I think about this from time to time.

I thought about this today, what would Walt Disney think if he came back and was able to see what the Imagineers had done with Epcot. I am fairly certain he would be disappointed that it wasn’t the city he had dreamed it would be, but would he be happy with what is there now?

Obviously, no way we can really know his full plans or even how he would have used newer technology so it is all guesswork. In my opinion, he would have liked some things done and hated others. And not just Epcot. For example, I think he would have been disappointed that HS and AK are not on the monorail line. But staying with Epcot, I think he would have liked the use of technology behind the scenes (for example Universe of Energy powers itself using solar). I don't know what he would have thought of the countries, they weren't part of the original plan, but a place where countries come together to share ideas may have appealed to him. I don't think he would have approved of a ride like Soarin (though a great ride and belongs somewhere in WDW), it does not meet that city of tomorrow concept.

I think he would've enjoyed 1982 EPCOT, I don't think he'd be impressed with 2015 Epcot. For one, I think he'd be furious with the empty WOL building and the Imagination Building be underused.

Epcot isn't anything like what he had envisioned, it was supposed to be a city that people lived, worked and played in. But as a theme park, he would have probably thought what it originally was, was a good start. I believe he wouldn't like how it has evolved, especially how it has transformed into basically a bar. I've had my share of drinks in my life but it's certainly not a requirement to have a good time, especially for families. Based on his comments regarding the Riverfront Square project he scraped in Missouri, I don't believe he would be happy with the outcome of Epcot as it is today for many reasons. The link below is what he had to say about that project.

It's fun to speculate as to "what would Walt think", but for all we know Disney living in the modern age might decide that the age of the theme park had gone the way of the silent cartoon, and put all his money and influence into developing interactive virtual experiences for the Oculus Rift.
The guy did love new stuff.

Walt believed in bringing all to the guest that was possible (and sometimes even what seemed impossible). While nobody can say for sure I do think he would be disappointed with all of the closed down, unused or "special events" areas that are rampant throughout the park.
