I NEVER THOUGHT...

I NEVER thought I would think ill of Disney and my obsession for. BUT in the recent years my obsession has began to dwindle to an almost hate for Disney, and that MAKES ME SAD!😭 We are planning our trip for October 2026 and as of this post, we ARE NOT GOING TO A DAY PARK, for the reason, its too expensive for the AVERAGE guests! I am also upset, because Disney is acting nonchalant about the whole EPIC UNIVERSE opening. They have not made any announcements of anything being built other than what we already know...Tropical America's at AK, Frontierland shooting Gallery becoming ANOTHER DVC LOUNGE and this hasn't been confirmed but a part of Frontierland becoming NEW ORLEANS area to tie into Tiania's Bayou, which has got NEGATIVE reviews, DHS Launch Bay AREA may get an overhaul and a build out, AK talk about Zootopia build.
All this is great to announce at D23 in a few weeks, but we know Disney's timeline, and nothing will be ready for at least 4-5 years! And I would be surprised if they did all these additions and refurbs at one time so that each park can open together! And Genie+ is now Lightning Lane Multi and Single Pass, but requires the guests to be on their phones during the day...that's why you go on vacation, so you don't have to be on your phones or deal with the outside world. The outside world is slowly creeping into our fantasy land.
My solution to LL passes...
1. ALL guests can schedule 3 LL's (1 major, 2 minor attractions) 7 DAYS BEFORE PARK DAY!
2. Once the guest enters the park, they CHECK INTO THE PARK. This gives EVERYONE a fighting chance for the popular rides. Resort guests are getting Early or Late entry/stay magic hours that they can ride more rides with little to no wait. That would be their perk for staying on property.
3. They App instructs them to go to their first LL, grab a FP TICKET for a return time, then go to the 2 minor attractions and do the same thing. In the meantime, they could be shopping, eating or snacking= more cash being spent and more profit!
4. Once the first or second LL is used (either major or minor), then you go to the next attraction to get a FP TICKET. Every time you use a LL, you are eligible to go get another FP TICKET.

This way guests are not on their cell phones except at park entry.

These are just my thoughts on the state of Disney for ME and my solution that might work and make guests more happy not being on their phones all day! I know Disney does monitor these blogs, so I hope they see this!!

The resort guest perks of early entry and extended hours have not filled hotel rooms.

They are not going back to manual FPs.

Nonchalant about Epic.... Theyve been watching closely as the announcement was first made, theyve been watching the build progress and Im sure their initial anxiety behind closed doors was great. They do know that Uni's Epic will hurt them when it first opens and will keep siphonIng off guests for a while. But they know this will not hurt them as much as people think. Numbers wise Dis will be o.k. It is wise for them to wait this out and not risk a huge outlay of cash to compete against them at this time.
The smaller builds Dis is putting out is keeping guest interest in the parks, not overextending financially, and allowing them to bide their time for a response play in the future. Dont count Dis out.
Phones... The generation that is going to Dis with their families now grew up on them. They are as much a part of their existence as breathing. They arent leaving the world behind them when they visit WDW as we do. Leaving phones behind would put them into instant withdrawal.
Onsite guests... They are spending big bucks for their resort. They want something in return. They want more than early/ late entry. They want a perk around getting the ride, thats why they ultimately come. Loyalty should be repaid. They should get first chance for the attraction.
Dis may monitor the sites but you are foolish to think anyones post will change their thinking or influence any change.

Great post.

Sadly they will not go to 7 days for off site. Frankly I think they NEED to keep adding on site perks if they want to book rooms

If what you mean by a FP TICKET you mean a physical paper ticket, sadly that wont happen either. I would LOVE paper tickets again, I loved to go to the end of the standby line and surprise total strangers with a FP.

There are reasons they will never go back to paper passes:
1. To get rid of paper to save the planet (even though the data centers that run the system and EVERYONE REQUIRING A CELL PHONE) uses A LOT of fossil fuels, (probably more?)
2. Folks WILL SELL the paper FPs for sure.
3. It would COST MONEY to bring back the printers.

TRUE BUT-This is the problem...all the older people complain that everyone relies on their phones TOO MUCH! If I were them I would welcome a change not to have to be on my cell phone on vacation! And I agree, they would have a meltdown if they weren't on their phones! I never thought I would witness this for myself, but always heard that a family was eating dinner in a restaurant and none of them were talking, they had their noses in their phones...God's honest truth...THEY WERE TALKING TO ONE ANOTHER!!!! OMG! That means we are too dependent on our phones! I have a cell phone too AND I have a LANDLINE as well! I only got a cell phone for emergencies. When I get home, I turn it off and charge it until I go out or to work whichever comes first!
