I NEED SOME HELP/ADVICE!

I am planning a trip and need your advice and help! My most resent trip(May 2013) left me disappointed. The park was busier than expected and we didn't get to ride the attractions we wanted. I have only tried FASTPASS when it came out years ago only a handful of times, but now with the upgraded versions of what is available, I am absolutely confused as to what to do or can do!
I am assuming upon entry to the park(s), I need to go and get FAST PASSes for all the major attractions we want to ride and then go back to each of them in their respective time limits? Can you get more than 1 FP at a time or is there still a limit to 1? If I get FP's from major attractions as soon as we enter the park(s), won't the times be the same? Thus limiting what we can do? I need help!

I remember the time when you could go to The Magic Kingdom and not have to worry about having a FP, you just walked to the attraction you wanted and waited 30 minutes to an hour and got on! IT WAS SIMPLE!

Starting next week [tomorrow?], the FP+ system will allow you to have three pre-booked FP+ and once those have been used, you'll be able to book more while you're there and you'll also be able to park-hop to use them. So it would make sense if you're pre-booking to book as early in your day as you can.

If you have a My Disney Experience account, you can pre-arrange your three FP+ for each day of your trip up to 30 days in advance if you're not staying at a resort and 60 days if you are. I'm not clear, but I think you need to have valid park admission media associated with your account to pre-book.

Thanks guys, I am still confused about pre booking? FP+ is different than regular FP? The only thing I remember is going to the FP machine and putting your ticket in and you got a FP ticket with a time to come back...is FP+ the same or ?

FP+ is done differently. If you have a computer with internet access [which you obviously do], you can create a "My Disney Experience" account. If you are staying at a resort and have purchased tickets with your reservation or have an AP or pre-purchased tickets, you will be able to book three FP+ windows 60 days in advance of your stay. If you're not staying on-site, you'll be able to book three FP+ windows 30 days in advance [I'm not sure if you need valid tickets for this or not]. Then, when you're in the parks, once you've utilized the three you pre-booked, you'll be able to book new FP+ one at a time for the rest of your day, you won't be limited to the park your first three were booked at. The windows for FP+ don't appear to be allowed to overlap, so that will limit your number of FPs the same way as they were with the old system.

If you don't pre-book, you can go to a kiosk in the park and book your three FP+ for the day when you arrive.

There is an MDE app for smartphones that allows you to organize your FP+ in advance, change them and book new ones without having to go to the kiosks [which sometimes have lines longer than some of the attractions].

Actually, February can be quite busy, particularly around the President's Day holiday....

Thanks again guys, I think I understand it So let me try this on you...
I am staying off property, so when we get to the park we IMMEDIATELY go to a FP+ kiosk and get 3 FP+'s and then after we use them we can get more for other attractions? Is that right?

HEY MONTY,
I AM JEALOUS...YOU HAVE LESS THAN 3 DAYS UNTIL YOU ARE ENJOYING WDW! HOW COOL! BUT HEY I 'ONLY' HAVE 1,317 DAYS! SO I'M NOT THAT FAR BEHIND YOU!! LOL HOPE YOU AND THE FAM HAVE A GREAT TIME...P.S. I WEAR AN XLARGE SHIRT! :-)

As long as you buy your tickets in advance, you'll still be able to book FP+ choices in advance; guests who are staying onsite get a 60-day window, and everyone else gets 30 days. So a month before your trip, you'll be able to book your FP+ choices.

You are correct about getting to pick more, one at a time, after you use your first three each day.

There aren't FP machines anymore.
