I know this should go on the transportation board...

But it seems pretty slow over there and we fly out in the morning. We are checking one bag and then have a carry on. We got the tags to put on and the identification cards to put in, but are we missing something? We haven't checked luggage before(just crammed stuff into carry ons) and my mom said we need something with a barcode so they know what resort and room the luggage goes to??? So, what am I missing, or am I good?

Thank you!

So is it too late for those since we fly out at 8 am tomorrow? My bro & sis in law are picking us up so we're not doing the express. Should I just claim the luggage and not bother with having it delivered?

Not sure. But try calling DME if you did not recieve the yellow bar coded tags with your DME info packet. They might be able to help you out or tell you what to do at the airport.

If you're not using DME you don't need anything besides basic ID on your luggage.

Hope that helps. :/

@Soarin' Over Pgh ok, yea I got worried that since we're not doing the DME maybe they couldn't take our bags. It's not really a big deal. We can just take it ourselves, so if we have to we will:).
From what I understand - someone can correct me - if you are not doing DME you need to collect your luggage and take it to the resort yourself. Have a great trip - I wish I were in your place right now - instead I have 75days to go. (Well 74 because today is almost done - its my logic and I am sticking to it.)

Exactly...if you opted out of ME, then they are not going to bring your luggage. It won't have the ME pickup tag so it should be on the belt with everyone elses. Just get it like you normally would when traveling by air and have checked baggage.

Thank you everyone! Looks like we will be claiming our luggage:).

You're probably sound asleep right now (or too excited to sleep), and you may never see this, but I'm just chiming in to agree that DME is an "all or nothing" service. Had you opted in, you would have gotten the yellow bar coded tags. So, as you've learned, just grab your bags from the carousel and take them with you.

Have a great trip!!!

I never use the bag delivery service, and outside of having to go pick them up and lug them to the ME gates, it's not impacted my trips in any way...

OK, so a better way to word it would have been "if you don't ride, they won't get your bags" :)

I too prefer to get our own bags and take them to the bus. I'm a control freak and would much rather have access to them all the time...and a s soon as the rooms ready, we can start unpacking, instead of having only our carryons.

Yes. That is a better way to word it! <grin>

And yes, because I am also a control freak, I also don't trust the "magical yellow tags" will get my bags to "magically appear" in my room.

I also like being able to immediately unpack as over the years I've formed a method as to how I set up the room.

15 minutes of pain vs hours of concern...

Lugging the bags...not my pain physically, though the kid would make you think her "heavy" bag is going to tear her arm off, vs hours of concern hoping I'll be able to shave and brush my teeth in the morning...

Yeah, I'll take the former. Neat service, never used it, don't think I ever will...
