Wow, the parks were empty. At the 'height' of the day Matterhorn had a 20 minute wait and Splash was 45. Everything else was basically a walk on.

Space, BTMRR, and IAJ are all offline at the moment. It is amazing how empty Adventureland is without IAJ. You could actually walk thru the area.

City Hall is getting some work done on it. Mark Twain is still in dock.

DtD was busier this evening then either park was during the day.

Yeah, I saw that the Mark Twain rehab got extended, through the 5th now I think. Haven't been to DL in a week and a half, but probably going next Friday. :) It'll be sad without IAJ, though, that's my favorite ride. Maybe time for another day at DCA. And playing DDR in Tomorrowland.

great news!

Here's hoping it'll be empty on March 5th!

Since you guys go quite often, do you know if Disneyland does "soft openings" of rehabbing rides ahead of the announced opening date, i.e. Indiana Jones? they say it's coming back online in April - holding out hope it might be open for part of the day on the 5th. Any chance of that happening?

Thanks!

PS: I'm sstaying downtown at the Bonaventure - does anyone know the best/fastest way to get from downtown to D-land?

Not rides in rehab, nope. :( They do it for new attractions (the new Snow White show could go into soft openings as early as Feb 9) but not for stuff just under rehab.

As for your second question... I'll have to leave that to someone else! I don't know much of the area at all besides I-5 and Harbor and Ball. ;)

Kristen is right on about rehabs. The chances it will be opne early March are extremely close to 0. Sorry - the ride will most likely will not be open.

About the Boneventure in downtown LA. You have a few choices; I would recco talking to the front desk. I know 3 routes but the front desk could answer which is easiest. You are next to the 110 fwy.

Option 1 (which I would take) is 110S to 91E to 5S. Disneyland is about 5 minutes after the 91 to 5 transition. If you have someone with you use the carpool lanes (far left) to get into DL. It takes you directly into the Park, skips all side streets and lights.

Option 2 is 110S to 10E to 5S.

Option 3 is 110N to 101S to 5S.

I dont like either of those because you are messing with the downtown area in rush hour. Plus the 5 transition into north OC the lanes drop to 3 and can get very crowded.

Even tho the 110/91 route looks longer I think it will come out better for you in the long run.

Again, check with the desk - they should be able to give you the best advice.
