I can't run RCT 3!!!

Okay, so I installed Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 on my other computer. It went fine. But, when I then tried to run the game it came up with this error message:

DirectX9 not found.
This error has also been sent to Debug.log
OK<attempt to continue> Cancel<exit>

So I click OK and another error message comes up that says RCT3.EXE had to close. And you should send error report, but Microsoft has nothing to do with this.
I know it's DirectX causing the problem, BUT DirectX 9 is supposed to come with the game!! It even says so on the box "DirectX: DirectX 9 (included)"

The computer I'm putting this on does NOT have internet. Is this the problem?

Arggg:fork: :fork:

Well, direct x 9 is free.

You can download it. HERE.

I think it would be a good idea to uninstall RCT3, and then reinstall it with direct x 9 installed directly from microsoft.

Did you double check that the installer is not on the CD? Probably hidden in a DirectX directory on the disc.

What does debug.log say?

No, the DirectX 9 is on the cd. How do you check what debug.log says?

EDIT: Okay I'm looking at the manual and it says that if you don't have Directx 9 on your computer than you click "Yes" to the DirectX 9 Licence Agreement and the DirectX 9 installation will launch. BUT this doesn't happen when I install it. In fact, it doesn't even have the DirectX 9 Licence Agreement in the installation. And what is so weird is that I have installed it on another computer(uninstalled shortly after, ran too slow) and it installed DirectX there. Hmm...

Okay, I have put directx on a cd and put it in the other computer. But how do I install it? I window pops up. What do I do next?

EDIT: ARG! Every time I insert the cd and click on the DirectX icon, the window feezes. And when I do ctrl + alt + delete, and I click end program, it does nothing. WHY CAN"T SOMETHING JUST WORK!!!!??? And it says that it is a "read-only" under details. PLEASE HELP! Why does technolodgy have to be so difficult?

Your video card probably can't handle DirectX9. I had the same challenge when I first installed RCT3. I had to get a new card and install it.

Check your computer manual to see what kind of video card you have and compare it to the game requirements. You may have to upgrade. Video cards can get expensive, anywhere from $100-$300 to get one that will run RCT3. They can be a little bit confusing to install, but not impossible.

Hope this helps!!!

Do your research before purchasing your graphics card, if you buy a new one. Make sure it'll fit in your motherboard.
