I Can't Decide!!!!!

So normally each summer, my family starts planning our annual Disney trip. My mom wanted to go on vacation in December, but we've gone to WDW so many times in December, that I've gotten quite tired of hearing Christmas music everywhere instead of the regular park music. Last year we went to WDW in October, and went to MNSSHP for our first time, and I have honestly never had so much fun in WDW as I had that night. I've been wanting to go back during Halloween season since.

So my mom looked up prices and resorts available for December and October for about 6 nights, and there are issues with either month that we choose. If we go in October, there aren't as many resorts available, and I would miss about three days of school. But in December, the airline tickets would be more expensive.

Then my mom gave me the option of going to Disneyland in October for 4 nights and then go to Universal Studios Hollywood, and maybe do some California sight seeing for a day.

The two choices that I'm leaning towards, are WDW or DL in October. I've always wanted to go to DL, but I'm afraid that 4 nights won't be enough to do everything.

I can't make up my mind. Any advice?

DISNEYLAND!!!!!! You can totally do Disneyland in 4 nights. You will love it! They have a Disneyland Halloween Party as well. You know you want to ride Alice and perhaps a game of musical chairs with her as well, plus Mad T-Party!
Oh gosh, I've been dreading how I'll act once I finally meet my favorite band members.

I mean, look how they overreact to bubbles! :arghh:

Don't worry Ally, four days should be enough. You'd finally be able to check out Mad T Party and the newly refurbished Alice. Not to mention the Alice and Hatter face characters.

I love USH. It shouldn't take you more than a day to do everything, though I'll admit I've never done everything in one day. Let me know if you go, I can get you and the family discounted tickets.

Check out our "Southern California" thread in the Disneyland forum for ideas on what to do and experience.

Awesome! Thanks for your suggestions! How is Universal Studios Hollywood?
From what I remember is is better than the Orlando version but it doesn't have HP. Also, I just wanted to mention that the MNSSHP is DL is very fun. Their HalloWishes has Jack Skellington and his dog. Whatever you do, do a trip report so we can see how much fun you are having!

Thanks! I was about to ask about the MNSSHP differences. Does DL have a parade or is it just trick or treating?

They do have a parade at DL. I have seen online the WDW Halloween parade and it has The Headless Horseman and DL does not have him. I think that is the biggest difference if you don't count the shorter parade route at DL. The charm of DL really lends itself well to the party.

Ooh, I don't know about Space Mountain. Last. time I went on it in WDW, it was way too jerky, and I felt gross afterwards. Plus, I don't like stuff jumping out. o_O

LOL, ours is very smooth. Not jerky at all. Delores (name of the ghost on the ride) doesn't pop out at you, she's not scary at all.

If you do end up going, you might want to stay away from Matterhorn. It's nearly 60 years old, and it's jerky.

I bet @coachwnh would have some advice! :) I read his most recent trip report for DL and now I want to go there. From reading his report, I'm thinking 4 days at DL should be fine because it's not as many parks as WDW. If it was me, I'd choose DL.

Have fun either way! :)
I'd go with @raven24 for better DL advice. She answered plenty of my questions about DL. Ive never been there in October, but Id love to see it there with the extras!

Four days would be ok for DL. The parks as a very short walk from the hotels. There are just as many attractions in DL and CA as there are in the four parks of WDW together with less walking and no buses, so getting to a lot more in less time is convenient! Whatever you choose @AllyInWonderland , have a great time!
