I was checking out some of the vids on this site:

Cool Disney Seas Site:

While watching the videos of Journey to the Center of the Earth, (the one that goes in and around Mt. Prometheus) I was thinking that another Indy/CTX ride system rehash will be in the works when it comes to Expedition Everest, the new E tic in AK.

Don’t get me wrong, I can see this being a very good attraction, lots of fun and an awesome ride.
But after having seen:
-the ride vehicles on JttCotE (chop the tops and you’ve got sleds)
-the mix of interior scenes with slow ride motion and the exterior drops ala Splash Mtn. (a good mix that seems to make everyone happy.)

I just don’t see how Disney could not reuse this attraction design. It’s not like very many people who visit WDW will have even seen the JttCotE attraction in Tokyo, and with the high cost of ride system design, this just seems like a natural.

Anyway, go see the vids, for yourself (especialy the one showing one of the drops from multi angles, and the one showing the pre-show and interior attraction shots) and let me know if you think this is likely or not.

Sorry, but I'm going to have to disagree...

Look at the concept art for EE... definately a coaster going down the side. I have faith in Disney to debut a ride system like none other... Take Matterhorn for instance: when it opened, it because the first coaster with a steel track. I think we are going to see an extremely advanced coaster here... not a retheming of a current attraction...

Just my opinion...:lookaroun

I know how much you want this ride to be a JttCotE ride system, but it isn't. Maybe someday we will see one at WDW, but EE will be something great and new. Yeah, it's a coaster, but nothing like we have ever seen before it appears.

Aren't test track and Journey using the same ride system...

And the concept art just shows a train, hard to tell what the ride system is. But can you make a train out of test track vehicles? can you make a self powered engine that pulls a train based on the journey/test track drive?

Now that would be a neat new ride system.

Test Track is a similar system, but not the same completly.

Here is from the press statement just to remind everyone "a new high-speed train adventure that combines coaster-like thrills with the excitement of a close encounter of the hairy kind."

Yeah Yeah.. coaster like don't mean coaster, well... it isn't a coaster 100%, just a heck of a lot closer to a coaster than JttCotE.

Agreed...this will be a coaster, but a type of coaster that we have never seen. They will be using technology that will be new to the theme park industry probably.
