I applied to work at The Disney Store

Hey everyone. I applied for a part time job to work at the Disney Store. Basically, I need another income in order to pay the bills (you know how this goes.) The position is Sales/Retail (which I do have experience.) I was wondering how to impress the interviewer (if I have one.) I don't want to come off as Disney-Freak, but I think it would be a fun place to work for. I have heard some positive and negative things about working for the Mouse for the Disney Store and I would like to hear from anyone who has worked there is is working there their comments on how to get the job and/or if working there would be more of hassle or if I would like working for the Mouse.

Thanks.

I love The Disney Store. I love my job, the people I work with and the place in general. I will admit it does get crazy around holiday time so if you can make it during that time, you can make it year around. The money is good at holiday time though...

I will admit that sometimes I don't get as many hours as I would like. This usually only happens in spring. But thankfully that's not my only job anymore.

Other than that, I love it. I take such pride in my store and in the fact that we actually have one in the area where I live. Hope this helped...if not feel free to PM me.

I made it clear that I was a total Disney freak (and former cast member) during my TDS interview and I think that's what got me the job! I had no retail experience...

That was me too! I had never worked retail before!

I had been in my store so many times that when I went to interview, the manager who interviewed me told it was nice to meet me officially! If you love Disney and are a happy person, that helps a lot!

My interview sort of stayed away from Disney, the questions were more geared toward my selling and work experience.

But they do ask what your interests are, and I told her that I love Disney and have always wanted to work for the company (got hired on the spot).

I'm going for an interview tomorrow! All your suggestions helped me too....Good luck LoriMistress! I even added a Mickey clipart onto my resume. It's creative and I am sure it can impress the manager. (I hear) I will post how everything went if you guys want me to. :)
