I am a fat guy, will I fit into Mission Space?

I have never had a problem at any WDW ride before, but the website makes a specific disclaimer regarding size. I am not ridiculously big, like 325 pounds.

You won't have a problem. I'm a big guy as well, and I fit into every WDW ride (that I want to go on lol). The seats is MS are rather big and I find them very comfortable. The restraints are pretty good too since they're padded pretty well.

Nick,

Exactly how big are you? I am a rather large guy. Waist of 50". I have no problems on anything at WDW, except for astro orbiter (when there are 2 of us). I am trying to get an idea of how large one can be to fit. Rock N Rollercoaster and Space Mountain are not even close to being tight. Will I be o.k. for Mission:Space?

Hey don't worry. I'm about 250 and I didn't have any problems in Mission Space. Pretty much all the Disney rides have pretty large seats. Just stay away from Primeval Whirl at AK. I fit, but just another 10 and you would've needed a plunger to get me out.

I haven't been to WDW since M:S opened, but i would assume that Disney would not create a ride that bigger people, like me, can't fit on. the bars and other locking mechanisms that Disney uses seem to have various points at which they lock. for example, at IOA rides like Hulk and DD, the restraint has to come down far enough for the belt to snap into it. however at Disney rides like Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, the restraint is pushed down over your head as far as possible and then locks in place. even rides like Primeval Whirl aren't a problem, since i just sat across the two seats (although that did mean i slid around a lot)

(yay, my first post! :D )

As a side note to this topic, the Kraken over at Sea World gets bonus points for having two rows on the coaster that are specifically designed to accomodate guests with larger frames.

As for M:S, I fit in it comfortably at 6'1" and 275 lbs, although I find I have to kind of scoot down in my seat a little. Not because of my size, but because of my height -- if I sit normally, I can't see everything in the viewscreen.

I have not encountered any attractions at WDW or over at Universal that I could not fit on. I wish I could say the same for Cedar Point up in Sandusky, OH. There were at least three coasters there that I could not go on because my chest diameter combined with my height made it impossible to close the restraints. My friend, who is a good four inches shorter but weighs the same or more than I do had no problem fitting in any of them. I really think it's more a function of the distance from your hips to your shoulders than it is weight. Then, of course, there was the one coaster that I fit on but wished I hadn't -- the lap bars for all three rows were linked, so when the operator cinched it down enough to fit the smaller people in the other rows it was uncomfortably tight for us. I don't recall the name of that particular coaster, but we generally refer to it as the Testicle Compressor.

Well, not to worry big guy....I'm 6'5, 250 and I have fit in to everything pretty comfortablly. Mission: Space was a very comfortable fit and I had no problem seeing the screen when the console rotated to me. I do have a worry or two in Space Mountain when it feels like the track we are going under hits the top of my hair!!!

You'll be fine! ENJOY!!! :sohappy:

You'll fit fine, no worries. Just abstain from the Turkey Legs and Chilli cheese fries a few days before hand.

I woofed down a meal after driving home from work, going straight to the park and felt "weird" after getting off the ride the first time. Not "pukey", just not right

Hey, Lay Off!

Turkey Legs aren't that bad for you. In no way should they be compared to chili cheese fries.

Of course not, 3 lbs of marinated pink meat into your stomach is exactly what Atkins was thinking of (tongue planted firmly in cheek)
