Hybrid Rope Drop strategy for MK

So we are now a bit older and have zero young people for this upcoming trip, just DH and myself. We have no problem rope dropping but we never go to Fantasyland unless we’re walking through and see something with a low wait. However we LOVE the entire West side of the park—Frontier, Liberty, etc. Since that isn’t open at rope drop what’s a good hybrid strategy to do a non rope drop rope drop for MK? We love Splash, Thunder, Pirates, Jungle, Tiki, HM, etc. Ideas?

You may be confusing rope drop with early entry.

Attractions in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland are open during early entry for resort guests (typically 8:30am) a half hour prior to official park opening (typically 9am). This is “rope drop” when all attractions are open for all guests.

If you are not interested in early entry, I suggest waiting on the bridge to Adventureland between 8:30-8:45 to be one of the first through the rope drop and go to Jungle Cruise first, followed by Big Thunder and Splash. Then go to Haunted Mansion.

You can hit Pirates and Tiki later.

All guests may enter the park as early as 8am, but must remain on Main Street/castle hub area until early entry or rope drop.

Yes confusing my terminology. We are resort guests, we can do early entry but this trip won’t do much in Fantasyland. We also don’t do Space, but we like Buzz, CoP and PM, however they are not key for us. So your plan makes sense. if we do early entry can we meander through Main Street heading to Adventure/Frontier and be ready to pounce at 9:00 then? Sorry we haven’t been in 13 years!

Yes you can.

That’s why I recommended being in the bridge to Adventureland area just prior to 9am, so you can get a head start on the crowds arriving behind you.

An alternative is to go to Fantasyland during early entry and wait for rope drop just before HM.
If you do that I’d hit BTMR and Splash first and then either HM or head on to Adventureland.

Everyone has their own cycle of what to hit first and how they proceed from there. Irregardless, get to the bridge as soon as you can, the crowd builds quickly for Adventureland. When we are allowed to proceed we hit PotC first with no wait, which loads and runs through fast, then go to Splash then BTMRR then backtrack to JC. After which we take the cut through over to Frontierland to hit HM. Doing it this way weve never encountered long lines or extensive waits.
The other half of the crowds going in the other direction are rushing to 7dmt, Pan or Space Mn and making their way around so you should hit HM as well before they increase the level of line builders there.
