Hurricane Joaquin

So on Friday 10/2, I will start my trip from Maryland to Disney on the road. We will take a break on the Carolina border and finish the drive Saturday 10/3. Do any of you know what would happen if Hurricane Joaquin would shift into the path of my drive and if we would need to find shelter immediately? Thanks for the help!

At this point I'm not even worried about the Hurricane. Im just worried about the abundance of rain that will be coming down. Is there any likelihood of that affecting my trip at all?

This may sound crazy but when we went down in 2013 we drove west to 81 and took an inland route to avoid a tropical storm. It added several hours to our trip, but we made it down safely. Good luck and safe travels
