I've been going to the Food and Wine Festival, almost since the beginning (always in late October). Over the last few years, I've noticed the the humidity can, at times, still be oppressive. For that reason, I moved this year's trip as late as I can without missing the festival (3rd week in November). In trying to figure out whether this shift will be beneficial, I've used data from https://www.wunderground.com to get a look at the last five years during that particular week. I looked at actual historical temperatures, precipitation, and most notably, dew points.
Perhaps my understanding of dew points in off, but even into late November, the actual day-to-day, historical dew points listed indicate that the humidity will be considered highly oppressive. From what I'd always heard, November was generally a very comfortable month.
I then checked January (my back up plan), and I'm still seeing a lot of high numbers in the dew point data.
Weather experts...locals...Do I need to look at more than the dew point number to determine how a day might feel? I've got to think that I'm doing something wrong. I know that there always warm days in Florida, even in January, but when a good portion of the days are coming up Oppressive, I might need a second opinion.
