Freedomland USA was shaped like the USA with really original rides/attractions, from the Chicago Fire , to the Tugboats, Schaefer Beer brewery, to the tornado and earthquake and the northwest woods trapper boat ride etc.

The were also Disney like stuff, lil ole New York street, stern wheeler riverboats on the great lakes, steam train, stagecoach's, mine bucket sky ride, etc.

It was designed and built by a Mr. Woods, who was a big wig in the building of DL, but apparently had the falling out with Walt and was fired and all evidence if his name was removed from DL.

We could not afford to go to DL, but Freedomland was a pretty good substitute.

Anyone remember this park?

The American was, for quite a few years, but it has since been broken up. The other sternwheeler, the Canadian was part of the seafood restaurant in Greenwich CT and is now in Port Chester, some type of jazz club.

The RR steamer engines are in Portland Maine as part of the narrow gauge excursion RR.

The last known Tugboat was operating on the small Quassy amusement park lake, but was broken up a few years ago.
