I've read lots of tour guides, but I made this one up by myself, using knowledge I've taken from the various guides and such. I wrote out a sample reccomended itinerary for mostly teens/ young adults, that allows them to see most attractions, and re-ride favorites. Let me know if you think this would work, and how well it's written. Just cooked it up today.
(Some of the formatting might not be great, because I had to use Notepad lol.)
One-Day Touring Plan for Teens/Young Adults without Kids
Magic Kingdom
(Assuming no early entry or extra magic hours. Assuming closing time around 11PM. Also assumes somewhat off-peak touring.)
1. Arrive early before official opening, about an hour. Grab a guide for show times, etc.
2. When the regular gates open, browse through Main Street. Check out the Expedition Center's displays.
If you wish to eat full service, make your reservations now at city hall. We reccomend making a late evening reservation around 7PM or so (just make sure to have a big lunch, or grab a snack in the afternoon
to tide you over).
3. Approximately 15 minutes before opening time, position yourself near the ropes closest to tomorrowland.
4. Once the rope is dropped (or walked back) head over to Space Mountain and ride.
5. Depending on how congested main street was. If it's really congested, consider walking past the Autopia up to Toontown and taking the railroad to
Fronteirland. Otherwise walk right across the central hub towards Splash Mountain.
6. Grab a FASTPASS for Splash Mountain.
7. Ride Big Thunder Mountain.
8. ASsuming you still have time before your FASTPASS for Splash Mountain go see Country Bear Jamboree.
9. If there's a lot of time, head to Adventureland and continue touring, or else ride Splash Mountain.
10. After Splash Mountain, go towards Adventureland. If the line-up for Jungle Cruise is over 30 minutes,
grab a FASTPASS, if not ride.
11. Ride Pirates of the Carribean
12. Grab a bite to eat at one of the Adventureland restaurants. Cool off after in the Enchanted Tiki Room.
13. If you had a FASTPASS for Jungle Cruise, you should be able to use it now, if not, see Swiss Family
Treehouse and then ride.
14. Head towards the Hall of Presidents. If it's really hot and you wish to cool off, consider sending someone
over to Splash Mountain to get another FASTPASS. See Hall of Presidents
15. After Hall of Presidents, grab a FASTPASS for Winnie the Pooh or Peter Pan in Fantasyland.
If you already have a FASTPASS for Splash Mountain, skip to the next step.
16. Ride the Haunted Mansion.
17. Ride It's a Small World.
18. If you have a FASTPASS for Splash Mountain, go back and ride, or if it's for Peter Pan or Pooh
go ahead and ride. If you have time before, consider Snow White's Scary Adventures if the line up is reasonable.
19. After Splash Mountain head to Fantasyland and get in line for Peter Pan. Have someone get Fastpass's for Winnie the Pooh.
After Winnie the Pooh or Peter Pan, get in line for the other if it's less than 20 minutes or grab a FASTPASS.
20. If you need to kill time before using a FASTPASS, consider Snow White or have a look around ToonTown, particularly Mickey and Minnie's house.
If you have limited time and don't feel like meeting the big cheese, you can skip out of the last part of Mickey's house.
21. Use your FASTPASS on Peter Pan or Pooh now.
22. It should be nearing time for the parade now. If you want to see it, head towards the Tomorrowland side of
Main Street USA and grab a spot. On the way, grab a FASTPASS for Buzz Lightyear.
23. IF you don't want to see the parade, this is a great time to ride Buzz Lightyear or any of the remaining Fantasyland rides with little wait.
24. After the parade if there's still time before your Buzz Lightyear FASTPASS, experience Stitchs Great Escape or Monsters Inc Laugh Factory,
whichever has a shorter wait, or both if there's time.
25. Use your FASTPASS for Buzz Lightyear.
26. Ride either Stitch or Monsters Inc if you didn't have time.
27. If you have coaster fanatics in your group you may want to consider grabbing a FASTPASS for SPace Mountain if they haven't already
been all given out. Or if you'd like to ride Buzz Lightyear again and try to improve your score, grab one for that or queue up if the
wait time is reasonable. Note that FASTPASS's are honored from the time indicated until park closing, so save the Fastpass for later.
28. Go towards Mickey's ToonTown. If you REALLY want to try the Autopia, go ahead and queue up. If you didn't ride earlier, check on the line-up for Snow White.
29. See whatever you may have missed in Toontown. Skip the Barnstormer unless you find a short line. Ride the railroad to Main Street USA. (If you have dinner reservations on the other side
of the park, take the train to Fronteirland.)
30. If you have time to kill before your dinner reservations, consider browsing the shops on Main Street,
or if you're in the Fronteirland area, consider a ride on the Liberty Square Riverboat, or if there's time and it's not dark try a quick trip to
Tom Sawyer Island.
31. After your meal, head towards Liberty Square. Grab a spot by Hall of Presidents for the evening parade, Spectromagic.
If you still have some time to kill, you may want to consider a few rounds at the Fronteirland Shooting Arcade.
32. As soon as the parade finishes, make a beeline for Fantasyland and you should be able to see Mickey's Philairmagic with little to no wait.
33. Consider riding favorite or missed attractions in Fantasyland and Toontown now as the line-ups will be significantly lower. Also if you want to try Aladdin's Magic Carpets, now is a more opportune time (consider an
evening cruise on the Jungle Cruise if the wait is short)
34. As long as the park is open til eleven, find a spot near the outskirts of central hub (on the tomorrowland side) for the fireworks. An alternate location is the second floor of the Main Street Train station (keep in mind, trains do not run during or for a brief period after the fireworks). A really good place if you want to get a headstart on Tomorrowland, and perhaps cap off some of Fantasyland is behind the castle over by Winnie the Pooh. The fireworks shoot off quite close so it's loud but they come from all around you. You will not be able to see Tinkerbell's flight however.
35. After the fireworks head over to Tomorrowland. If you missed either Stitch or Monsters Inc, now is the time to see them.
36. Check out the Carousel of Progress.
37. If you have a FASTPASS for Buzz Lightyear or Space Mountain, use them now. Or skip to the next step.
38. Ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority, just make sure you have time before the park closes.
39. Check your watch, if there's more than a half hour to go before closing, consider riding Astro Orbiter or re-visiting Buzz Lightyear (assuming the waits are reasonable)
If not, poke around the Tomorrowland Arcade or grab a snack. With about five minutes before closing, if you're still up for it, get in line for Space Mountain. If you need to get some shopping
done on Main Street head towards there instead. Consider that on an off day Downtown Disney has just as good, if not a better
selection of Disney merchandise without having to pay for a theme park ticket or use a day on your park-hopper ticket.
40. After Space Mountain, you may see the SpectroMagic parade's later showing. If this is the case, head down Main Street and exit the park as you can get a head start on the Monorail/resort launches.
EPCOT
(Assuming no early entry or extra magic hours. Assuming Future World closes at 7 except SSE, Test Track, Mission Space, TSWN&F and EEA. Assumes World Showcase & rest of FW closes at 9. Also assumes somewhat off-peak touring.)
1. Arrive 45 minutes before official opening, grab a time guide and make reservations for dinner. (Make them around 7:00 if possible so you can have time to grab a spot for Illuminations afterwards).
2. Once the gate opens, do NOT ride Spaceship Earth unless you REALLY want to, you'll have a much better chance in the evening. (Check your time map however, if Spaceship Earth closes at 7 with the rest of Future World (generally it, Test Track, Mission Space and The Seas with Nemo
stay open til 9) then you may want to consider riding it right away.
3. Send someone over to the Land to grab a FASTPASS for Soarin'.
4. Get in line for Test Track.
5. After Test Track head straight for Mission Space. A good strategy if you're unsure is to ride the green version. If you enjoyed it and feel up o challenging orange, either requeue if the line-ups reasonable or grab a FASTPASS.
If you do get a FASTPASS remember it is valid from the alloted time until park closing so hang on to it for now.
6. If you still have time before your Soarin' Fastpass consider spending sometime in the Advanced Training Lab outside of Mission Space.
7. Head over to Soarin' and use your FASTPASS.
8. If it is nearing lunchtime, get out of the Land as fast as possible as the pavillion gets EXTREMELY crowded. Head over to the Imagination Pavillion and ride Journey
to Imagination with Figment. Check and see how much time there is before Honey I Shrunk the Audience (do NOT use FASTPASS) and spend some time in ImageWorks if time allows.
9. By this time, World Showcase should be open; head over to the Mexico Pavillion and grab a bite to eat. Send someone over to Norway to grab FASTPASS's for Maelstrom.
10. If you still have time before Maelstrom, ride the Gran Fiesta Tour.
11. Ride Maelstrom.
12. See Reflections of China.
13. Consider touring the Germany and African pavillions.
14. Hop on one of the Friendship Boats towards Future World. Head over to the Land which should be much less congested now.
15. If the line-up for Living With the Land is longer than 30 minutes, consider grabbing a FASTPASS, if not queue up.
16. While waiting for your FASTPASS, or after riding the Land, see Circle of Life upstairs.
17. Head to the Seas With Nemo and Friends and ride.
18. Experience Turtle Talk With Crush. If you still have time, take a look through some of the exhibits in the Seas.
19. If you had a FASTPASS earlier from Mission Space head over and ride that. If not, skip to the next step.
20. Head back into World Showcase and take one of the Friendship Boats. Tour the Italy or Japan pavillion.
21. See the American Adventure.
22. Check the schedule to see if any performances are going on in the American Gardens Theatre. If not, move on and tour Morocco and France. 23, See Refelections de France.
24. Skip past the United Kingdom for now and see O Canada. If Oft Kilter are performing at the Canadian
pavillion stay and watch then see the movie.
25. By now it should be time for dinner, if you made reservations in World Showcase, consider altering your tour plans accordingly.
26. After dinner, head back towards Future World and see Ellen's Energy Adventure (keep in mind it's 45 minutes long so make sure you have time).
27. See Spaceship: Earth
28. If you still have more than 20 minutes before Illuminations, consider looking at Spaceship Earth's Project Tomorrow or go look at the exhibits at the Test Track pavillion.
Leave Innoventions for a second day visit as much of the things require time invested, also Innoventions generally closes at 7.
29. Head towards the World Showcase Lagoon with about 5-10 minutes to spare for Illuminations. Try to get a spot over by the UK Pavillion, and if you have time tour that pavillion.
Unless you have small children in your group, you should be able to see Illuminations quite well from anywhere in the World Showcase.
30. After Illuminations, exit via the International Gateway.
31. If Disney's Hollywood Studios is open late that night, and if you have a Park-Hopper pass, consider taking a boat there for a late night riding of the Tower of Terror
and seeing the late showing of Fantasmic! (you can always return to EPCOT later if you parked there).
32. Alternately, take a stroll down the Boardwalk and visit one or more of the clubs/restaraunts there.
Disney's Hollywood Studios
(Assuming no early entry or extra magic hours. Assuming closing time around 11PM & Fantasmic showins at 8:30 and 10:30. Also includes an alternate plan for closing at 9. Also assumes somewhat off-peak touring.)
1. Arrive 45 minutes before official opening, grab a times guide and make reservations for dinner if you'd like. We reccomend the 50's Prime Time Cafe or the Hollywood and Vine.
If there are two performances of Fantasmic, make your reservations for about 7. If not, make them earlier at about 6.
2. If Hollywood Boulevard is open, consider browsing some of the shops.
3. Once the park is open, sprint on over to Rock n' Roller Coaster and grab a FASTPASS. Then queue up for Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. The
reason we say this is Tower of Terror has a more interesting line-up area.
4. After ToT, if you still have time before Rock n' Roller Coaster see if there's a showing of Beauty and the Beast. If not, remember that your fastpass's are valid until park closing so head towards Toy Story Mania and ride.
If you do ride Rock n Roller Coaster then head to Toy Story Mania.
5. After Toy Story Mania, check your schedule to see when the next showing of Lights Motors, Action is. If it's within the next ten minutes, you should probably wait for the
next one as it fills up quickly. If time permits, see the Prince Caspian attraction.
6. If you have over an hour before the next Lights Motors Action, take the Backlot Tour. If not, kill the extra time with a walk through the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure, or
if you're hungry grab a bite at Toy Story Pizza Planet and hang out at the arcade. Give the Claw a shot if you really want the full Toy Story experience.
7. Once Lights Motors Action is done, if you didn't do the Backlot Tour, do so now.
8. If you haven't eaten lunch yet, do so now. We reccomend the Toy Story Pizza Planet, but if you have a lot of females in the group, the ABC Commissary is a good spot also.
If you'd rather remain outdoors, try the Studio's Catering Co.
9. Have someone run ahead and grab a FASTPASS for Star Tours. See Muppet Vision 4-D. Afterwards, be sure you have time
to check out the Muppets store. It has just as many hidden jokes as the show.
10. Your fastpass for Star Tours should be ready fairly quickly unless it's a Star Wars weekend. If you have still have time to kill, check out Sounds Dangerous with Drew Carey.
If you think you might be prone to motion sickness, consider leaving Star Tours til after Indiana Jones if you've just eaten.
11. Check your schedule for the next Indiana Jones performance. If you have time try to see Sounds Dangerous with Drew Carey. If the parade occurs during this time, this is a good place
to view it, just make sure you're close to either Sounds Dangerous or Indiana Jones, depending on the schedule.
12. After the parade if you haven't done so, be sure to see Sounds Dangerous first if possible followed by Indiana Jones. If this is not
possible, and you are keen on seeing Sounds Dangerous, be sure to sit near the end of the Indiana Jones crowd so you can get to Sounds Dangerous before the rush.
13. After Indiana Jones, check the schedule for the next Beauty and the Beast showing. If you have time along the way and encounter a short wait at Little Mermaid or Great Movie Ride, ride them. If not, see Walt Disney One Man's Dream
If there is only one showing of Fantasmic, you may want to consider skipping Beauty and the Beast for the Great Movie Ride
14. After Beauty and the Beast, consider grabbing another FASTPASS for either Tower of Terror or Rock n Roller Coaster.
Either way, head towards the Little Mermaid. Depending on how long away show time is, you might have time to squeeze in Magic of Disney Animation, One Man's Dream, Or Prince Caspian if you haven't done so already.
15. After Mermaid if you didnt see Magic of Disney Animation or One Man's Dream do so. Also if you happen upon a short line for Toy Story Mania (unlikely), go ahead and ride it again.
If there is only one showing of Fantasmic it should be time for dinner now so go and do that. If there's still over an hour before Fantasmic after dinner, go and see Magic of Disney Animation or One Man's Dream. You can skip the film presentations of both
if you run low on time.
16. Around 7:30 if there is only one showing of Fantasmic (Assuming it's at 8:30), head to the theatre and grab a seat near the back so you can exit quickly at the end.
If there is a later showing, its time for your Dinner Reservations. After dinner, kill some time in either MAgic of Disney Animation or One Man's Dream, or consider heading towards the AFI Showcase.
As showtime for Fantasmic approaches head over to the Great Movie Ride and ride. Afterwards either head to Toy Story Mania or the Rock n Roller Coaster depending on your preference and ride (or use your FASTPASS).
17. If you were at the 8:30 Fantasmic, the park closes at nine. If you're really up for it, you can sprint out of there and quicly get in line for Tower of Terror before closing for one last ride. Rock n' Roller Coaster is probably too far and would be pushing it.
If you were waiting for the late showing, grab a FASTPASS if you can for Rock n Roller or Tower of Terror to revisit later. Make sure if you want to ride anything else that you are out of the Sunset Boulevard area before 9 when Fantasmic lets out.
Consider re-riding Toy Story Mania, Star Tour or Muppet Vision 3-D. Or see the AFI Showcase, browse the New York street sets, or look at the Narnia attraction.
18. At about 9:30 start heading back towards Sunset Boulevard. If you have a FASTPASS for Tower of Terror or Rock n Roller Coaster you can use it now. Afterwards get a spot for Fantasmic!
19. Generally you can get a really good spot for Fantasmic and won't have to worry as much about getting out for the late show. If you do want to leave right after consider sitting near the back.
Disney's Animal Kingdom
(Assuming no early entry. Assumes somewhat off-peak touring.)
1. Arrive 45 minutes before official opening, grab a times guide and make reservations if you wish. An alternate plan is to eat dinner outside of the park as you can generally be done touring Animal Kingdom by parade time. Alternatively if you plan on spending a lot of time here, make them at Rainforest Cafe.
2. The Oasis will usually be open so feel free to view some of the exhibits. 3. When the rope is dropped or walked back, send someone with low tolerance of spinning with the park tickets to Expedition Everest to claim FastPass's while everyone else splits off at Dinoland USA.
4. Ride Primeval Whirl at Dinoland USA and then re-unite with your party. If they aren't there yet and there's no wait, ride Triceratops Spin.
5. Once your party is re-united, ride Dinosaur.
6. Check your schedule to see when the first performance of Finding Nemo- The Musical is. If you have a bit of time to spare, wander through the Cretaceous Trail or try your luck at the Fossil Fun Games in Dinoland.
7. Arrive 10 minutes early for Finding Nemo. After Nemo, it should be time for your FASTPASS for Expedition Everest.
8. A good idea is to send someone to get FASTPASS's for Kali River Rapids. As long as your FASTPASS says you can obtain a new ticket, do so.
9. Ride Expedition Everest.
10. If you did not get a FASTPASS for River Rapids, do so now. Try and catch a showing of Flights of Wonder, or wander down the Maharajah Jungle Trek.
11. Ride Kali River Rapids.
12. After Kali River Rapids head towards Africa. Obtain FASTPASS's for the Kilimanjaro Safaris.
13. Take the Wildlife Express Train to Rafiki's Planet Watch and visit Conservation Station and the Affection Section.
14. If there's still time after you take the train back, visit the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail.
15. Ride Kilimanjaro Safari's
16. If you didnt already, visit Pangani Forest Exploration. Head towards Asia if you missed Flights of Wonder and eat the the Yak &Yeti Restaraunt (counter service) before.
If you did see the show, or arent interested, head towards Pizzafari on Discovery Island and grab a bite.
17. Check the schedules and find out then Festival of the Lion King plays. If time permits, see It's Tough to be a Bug first.
18. See Festival of the Lion King. If Pocahontas is playing afterwards see it but dont go out of your way.
19. Grab a spot by Pizzafari for the parade. Alternately you can try heading towards Expedition Everest or Dinosaur but Animal Kingdom is VERY hard to navigate during parades.
20. After the parade, sprint on over to It's Tough to be a Bug. If you already saw it, or aren't fond of insects, see the Discvery Island Trails right by the ride.
21. If you have animal lovers you may want to spend some more time in some of the animal exhibits.
Thrillseekers may wish to ride Expedition Everest and/or Dinosaur once more.
You may just want to cool down with another ride on Kali River Rapids
Or you may want to leave the park and go back to your hotel room for a bit and head to one of the other parks in the evening for Fantasmic or Illuminations.
(Some of the formatting might not be great, because I had to use Notepad lol.)
