How's bus service for Port Orleans Riverside lately?

Last trip to the World (October 2006) don't recall any issues and always seemed to be a short wait for a bus going out and not jam-packed all the time coming back - but a lot can change of course in 7 years. Will be there mid November (2nd and into 3rd week, flying out on the 21st). Thanks in advance for info!

We will be there Nov 6-12th so I will let you know. Hopefully it isn't so bad. I stayed at POFQ last year and we shared with Riverside sometimes, with FQ being picked up and dropped off first. At night when leaving, I noticed POR bus stops to be the most packed! It all depends on the night I guess.

We were there last October and thought the bus service was great. We never waited more than 10 minutes (always at the main (South?) bus depot) for a bus from PORS to anywhere. (I'd recommend that depot over the more far-flung ones, which get skipped once the bus is full.) Twice at the MK we had long waits trying to get back: once it was a mechanical issue, and the second time, we just gave up after 20 minutes and got on a bus to POFQ and walked the Sassagoula River path back to PORS.

I tend to think that in general, the quality/speed/frequency bus service at any WDW location has more to do with crowd level than with the particular location.

We were there in June and thought the buses were really good. Only waited one time coming home from MK, but that's to be expected with any resort at park closing

Just come back a few days ago, great bus service, no more than 10 minutes

Back in June, we had only one bus service problem. We were waiting for an HS bus, and only MK and AK buses kept coming. And mostly everybody who was waiting for a bus was going to either HS or Epcot, so we had to get a CM and it eventually got resolved, but it took a good 15-20 minutes. The only other thing is waiting for a POR bus going back from the MK and HS, but that happens a lot with all the crowds. Other than that, its been mostly fine. Hope it helps! Have a great trip!

Also just came back from staying a week at Riverside. Buses were GREAT! I know they can be a hit or miss but boy did we luck out the whole week. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus all week going to and from the parks. We almost always walked up to the bus stop at the parks and a Riverside bus was there waiting. More than once leaving the MK, there were 2 Riverside buses back to back so nobody had to wait... it was great! We only shared a bus with French Quarter one time the whole week which was nice. The day we went to Animal Kingdom the bus would usually stop at Blizzard Beach first but the bus driver asked everyone if anyone was going to BB and since no one was we went straight to AK, so that was nice too.

We stayed May 31-June 4, 2013 and the buses were great - never waited more than 10 minutes or so (except at MK close, and they came quickly...I think it was maybe 30 minutes total, but the parks were packed).

I typically stay at FQ, and on those trips have shared buses with POR maybe once or twice. In May, we didn't share with FQ at all, so it's hit or miss.

Was there in April... It was... Tedious. Sometimes you'd get three in a row to a park, other times you'd wait, and wait, and wait... Some days they were fine. All over the map at POR. Might have been a temporary issue, who knows.

Never had this problem at the Swalphin, but then they only have ONE stop (each).

We were there in September and the bus service was good. Usually 10 minute wait for a bus. A couple times we waited closer to 20. We never had to wait for a second bus to or from the parks. The resort was actually pretty full too, based on free dining I suspect.

Yeah, that contributes to the variability for sure.

When I stayed at the POR, the bus service was horrible getting picked up! We waited and waited and waited and waited and waited, you get the gist. Just when using the buses, or any Disney transportation for that matter, make sure you give yourself extra time because you never know!

We were there this past week and the bus service wasn't bad. The busses start out at the lobby bus stop and then go to the other stops (West, East, and North stops). We always got on at the stop near the lobby (South) so we didn't have to worry about full busses pulling up to our stop. So I recommend getting a room somewhat close to the lobby so you can use that stop.
