Any info on hotels on HWY 192? This particular Howard Johnson says its just 4 miles from WDW. Looking on google maps it looks like the area on HWY 192 by WDW has alot of dining and shopping options. Anyone ever stay around there, is it a pretty good area?

The area is safe enough, but you want to avoid either HoJo (they have Maingate East and Maingate West). You definitely get what you pay for, which is threadbare and nothing. In that area, there are so many hotels to shake a stick at it's crazy. My recommendation is Comfort Suites Maingate East.

Comfort Suites Maingate East
2775 Florida Plaza Boulevard, Kissimmee, FL 34746

It's going to run about $85 a night (give or take on when you're going, if it's on a weekend, etc) and you get a free "deluxe" continental breakfast (you'll have to call them to ask what the "deluxe" part of that is...waffles?) They also provide free WiFi internet. Each room is a small suite meaning you get a couch, microwave and fridge. You're also right smack in the middle of Old Town, which is a healthy mix of a permanent souped-up carnival plus small eclectic shops. If you're looking for something cheaper, I can look for some other choices.

Yea, Comfort Suites usually are pretty nice but to be honest i'm not looking to spend more then $30-$35 a night after fees and taxes. If I was going to spend anywhere near $100/night I would just stay at a value Disney resort on property. I do believe in the saying "you get what you pay for" so i'm not expecting anything luxury at the HoJo. Just a bed and a shower, lol. I'll probably only be in the hotel room from maybe midnight-8am everyday while i'm down their. Thanks for the heads up though!

We've stayed at the HoJo MGE twice so far. The last time was just in March, during Spring Break/UCA nationals. I paid $28 a night and when we showed up the front desk said that because they were completely booked out we had been upgraded to the "full size" room, which included oven, and all of that jazz. Now the rooms aren't impressive and look really old, but if you're like me then all you need is a place to sleep, shower, and the other S.

I booked mine through Expedia.com.

I have stayed several times on it, if it is the 6051 irlo bronson, and I liked it. Its clean, the beds are comfortable and very near everywhere... Including places to eat.
If we want to pay $85 or more, we stay within disney hotels obviously

I'm looking for a cheap place to crash every night, for a quick budget trip. The HoJo looks interesting.

I will not be having a car. How is the transportation to the parks, and to and from the airport? Shuttle bus? Easy?
