How would you feel about a Kingdom Hearts ride?

The big new game by SquareSoft (Final Fantasy) and Disney is set to hit Japan soon, and it combines the Final Fantasy worlds with that of Disney. About a year ago I wrote about it in the videogame section.

Now that Disney's allowing Square to introduce their characters to those such as Donald, Ariel, Alice, Aladdin, Dumbo, Peter Pan.... You get the idea... wouldn't it be cool to see a Kingdom Hearts ride in the park. It would fit perfectly in Fantasyland.

The game will be released in the States in september, and should have a MASSIVE media blitz behind it. It'll be for the PS2, in case you didn't know.

I think a ride would kick butt, but then again, I eat, sleep and breath videogames.

I'd have to:
A) buy one
B) find some free time

It's been between PS2 and GameCube for us...I'm a massive Final Fantasy and Zelda fan...hmmm...maybe I'll get PS2 for the disney game and Final X...and assume that based on Majora's Mask, the next Zelda will be bad...anyway...not disney related! It'd make a kewl ride, although I'm not sure where it'd go...DisneyQuest, if it were to stay open.

Unfortunately, I fairly recently lost my job on the magazine, so I'm unable to get some recent information, particularly on the media end. I'm gonna give my contacts at SquareSoft a call, and see if they respond.

If they made a ride, I'd love to see it be a massive/advanced dark ride. There are so many cool effects they could use, and since Donald and Goofy are your partners, they could finally get their chance to shine in a ride...

BTW: Don't knock Zelda for GameCube until you've played it. Despite the silly-looking Link pics you've seen, Nintendo has a tendancy of completely changing the game from the early shots to the final production version. (One time, I flew out to Nintendo to do a strategy on Ocarina of Time, and the version I played was almost completely different. As for Metroid, this game will be cool, but it may lack that exploration feel. We'll see... With Gunpei Yokoi gone, Metroids future may have problems. At least the GBA version is in the classic style!

Square just went thru a series of layoffs after they took a dive on the movie (sad but true)..all my friends who worked there have since been canned...but I wish you luck! They al enjoyed working there while it lasted...

Well..about Zelda..from what I have seen so far..they DID change the style..it used to look REALLY cool..and then they made it a cartoon...im curious to see what happens at E3...since for the last few years they havnt really been the main focus...Metroid...yes...it may not be THAT bad...but i liked the old style better...Nintendo should stick to what works..they do really well in the handheld market..and thats where the money is..

Woah..talk about serious thread drift...

Alright guys...this arguement can get really bad if we don't stop it now....just look at any video game board...I'm not gonna let that happen here.

Play nice, or I'm calling mom.

No one's bashing any system... please remain in your seats and the ride shall resume momentarily....

Anyways, Zelda for N64 switched multiple times before the final release, including three separate art styles.

Still, I think Final Fantasy (not the ill-fated movie) is marketable, and the characters are identifiable enough to warrant their own ride. Many of the characters are just as beloved.

Square's been after this for a long time, and Disney seems willing...
