How to use a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party ticket without accidently using a complimentary ticket?

I'm planning on going to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party for the first time ever on the 16th. I'm hoping to use my magicband with the ticket on it for early entry before the party around 4. The issue is I have a complimentary ticket linked to my account that I'm not planning on using till January and when I scan my magicband at 4 I don't want to accidently use the complimentary ticket instead of the party ticket. Anyone know how to fix this?

Use the “Event Only” turnstile entrance and make sure it is after 4 pm (one minute after is fine). Your admission will be your MVMCP ticket and not your comp ticket.

and if you weren't attending the party and wanted to use another ticket before the comp ticket, before scanning, you would ask for a Guest Services CM, who could come over with his/her iPad, scan your band, and prioritize the tickets on your account so one would be used before the other.

I had the same concern when we went a couple years ago that the magic band would use one of our daily tickets instead of the MVMCP ticket that were all linked to my account. The system is smart enough to figure it out if you are arriving at the 4:00 PM entrance time or later. Everything worked just fine for us.
