How to tag a member with a name that has two words?

I just tried to reply to "The Mom" in another thread and wanted to tag her with the @ method we now have (one of the great features of the new format!). But since she has a space in her name, as soon as I enter the space, it does not understand that it's not "@The" but "@The Mom". Is there any way to do this? Or are people with a space in their username untaggable?
