How to Handle shopping bags???

In planning out my Disney itinerary, it seems the only time we will have to shop is the middle of the afternoon. But then it dawned on me, how will I lug all the stuff I plan on buying around the rest of the day? I can't take bags onto rides, and I don't want to worry about breakable stuff getting wrecked... I see there are lockers near the entrance... would that be the best/only option. What does everyone else do?!

I'm not sure why carrying bags around is such an endeavor in Florida but if you don't want to do that then the option for sending items to your resort works great. If you aren't staying at a Disney resort you can also have packages sent to the front of the parks to pick up later in the day. I don't know exactly where since I've never needed this but I do know it's an option. Also, if you have a Disney Visa card then try to shop in Disney Springs where they offer a discount for cardholders.

Renting a locker would be a good idea, you could also use it to store snacks and water especially if you are going to be there all day.

You can also have the purchases sent to the front of the park, for pick up as you leave. The pick up point is next to city hall in the MK. Keep in mind that there is a point in the day that they stop the service. I did this when I was there for a Christmas party. We shopped first to get it out of the way and by the time I checked out (sometime between 4-4:30) I had just met the time deadline.

Another option is shopping when you leave, the shops on man street are typically open an hour after park close,

Use the front of the park package pickup. Disney began this as a way to keep you shopping. If you can just have all of the purchases sent to your room or the front of the park then that leaves you unencumbered to continue your day at the parks .. shopping. It also has the often unseen added benefit (for Disney) of having you spend more because you may not be thinking about all of the stuff you have already bought. If you were carrying it around you would be less likely to buy more because you would be seeing how much you've already spent. Think of it like the missing clocks and windows in Vegas casinos. ;)

But seriously, just send the stuff to the front of the park. :D

I was going to mention the same thing, when I was a Cast Member, I would work Package Pick Up at Epcot, and it was at the gift shop to the right of the entrance(outside the turnstiles). For the Magic Kingdom I think it may be City Hall or at least one of the shops near Town Square! Whatever park you are in, just ask a Cast Member as you enter! It is a great feeling to know that you don't have to lug your shopping bags around the park!

If it's small enough to fit in a Messenger bag, or edible :D, I'll carry it.
Otherwise it gets sent to our resort for pick up the next day.

There is a wonderful App that you can download on your smartphone. It is called Shop Disney Parks. All you need to do is download and add your address and link it to a credit card. When you shop in the parks or hotels, just scan the UPC code on the item into the App and decide if you want the item shipped to your home or Disney Resort. There is a shipping fee but you just need to decide what is important to you. Our purchases arrived at our home before we did. Have a Magical Trip! :cat:

I'll second this idea. I used the Shop app on my trip last week, and I chose to have my in-park purchases ready to pick up on my way out of the park. Much easier than lugging bags around all day.

When you used the app, where you able to pick up the packages at the Package Pick-up? That would be very convenient rather than running back to a locker (alas, not staying on property this year).

Sometimes even much longer than that, so be sure to ask.
I take care of it by only buying stuff during a visit to the place formally known as Downtown Disney. Makes life a whole lot less complicated and from what I can tell most all the things that you can find in the parks is available in Disney Springs.
