How to get on the most rides ....

... So when my family travels to the world in December (a most crowded time of year indeed), my thought was to go to whatever park has a.m. EMH, ride as many rides as possibly before noon and then hop over to another park ... for example, go to MK @ 8 a.m., but book my fast passes between 2-5 p.m. at EPCOT. Do you think this is the best way to get the most rides in? I know, I'm a big kid who loves my ride (I'll turn 59 while there).

Your morning is exactly correct, but I'd get out of the parks entirely in the afternoons and come back in the evening. So rather than Park 1 then hop to Park 2, I'd do Park 1, back to the hotel, then Park 2.

We have always been gluttons for punishment and don't leave the parks, but sometimes just take breaks and rest for awhile ... or do my favorite thing ... shopping!!

Yes, good plan.....take advantage of the EMH's and park hop. Youll be amazed at how packed one park is while another is so much quieter. You can get lots done with the morning EMH's in place, but I've always been more of a fan of the evening EMH's only because the parks seem to empty out more as the evening progresses. I dont leave the parks either but DW sometimes needs a mid day rest and we separate only to meet up later.

That's a very good plan. That's exactly how I use morning EMH. I get to the early EMH park at rope drop, do as many rides as I can until the lines get too long, then go back to the hotel or even DTD for a while, then a different park at night. I also love MK when they have evening EMH especially after the fireworks and parades are over for the day. You can get a lot of rides in on those nights

Mornings, hit it hard, early, EMH, whatever. Eat lunch. Leave. Make all Fast Passes for your late afternoon/evening return. Make 'em count.

But there weren't nearly as many rides ... and there was only ONE park!!!!

Hey, quick on the ball... great response. ;) I can't imagine having an Orlando WDW with only one park. It would cut my need for a two week vacation time and the fun factor would greatly diminish.

Is there any issue with making FP for the second park you go into? Will the system cancel the FP if you go to a different park first?
you can only schedule FP+ at one park/day, it doesn't matter which park you actually visit first, you just won't have any FP+ at that first park for that day

My wife is cut throat, I take a more laid back approach. I don't care about squeezing every last bit of fun out of a park (to the point where the kids are crying to go back to the resort). We do the mornings, and shoot for what our favorite rides are. We also choose our FP+ stuff for early in the day so that we can try to get new reservations later in the afternoon (I'm not a fan of the FP+ system but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be).

It all depends on how long you plan on spending in the parks on a given day. Personally I like to get to a park at rope drop, do as many rides before the lines build up, take a midday break at the hotel, and then hit a different park in the evening(preferably one with evening EMH) and do my FP+ selections and then as many rides as I can after that until the park closes
