How reliable is the reopening date info?

I asked this in another thread, but I wanted to start my own thread to see if I could get some more thoughts and opinions. We are planning a trip to WDW for late June, and we really want to stay at the Beach Club. I know that May 30th has been announced as the reopening date, but it worries me a little bit that the date could end up getting pushed back for some reason. What do you think the chances of something like that happening actually are, and how comfortable would you be with booking the Beach Club for June? Please keep in mind that staying at another resort (if Disney attempted to move us) isn’t an option, as we have family staying at the Beach Club Villas and we want to be able to use the pool with them.

Thanks a lot for your insight! As always, it is much appreciated!

Other resorts have been pushed back after initial reopening dates were announced. So at this point, I would not take the dates as being guaranteed. Like everything in the world at the minute, it is all subject to change at anytime unfortunately.

Yeah, that makes sense. Thanks!

Yes unfortunately the circumstances of Covid times are making it difficult all over to make solid plans and have any guarantee. Disney can post anything they want and in a heartbeat decide those decisions need to be cancelled and then notify everyone who booked. If you had to be moved to an alternate resort is it that critical enough to ruin the rest of the trip over not doing the pool together? Its just a small part in the rest of having a family trip together.

Thanks for your thoughts! Spending time together at Stormalong Bay is a pretty big part of the trip to us. We also really enjoy the ability to get together at places like Beaches and Cream and Martha’s Vineyard. Given all that, I think we might just book at the Beach Club Villas so that we know we will all be together for things like that.

Why not look at the YC rates? Usually they are comparable to BC and has the advantage of already being open. It would give you peace of mind knowing you’ll be able to use SAB with the rest of your family.
That’s really not a bad idea at all. Typically, we prefer the BC side, so I think we are going to go with a BC Villa just to be safe. I suppose, as we get closer, we can always try to move to the main hotel if there is still availability and it looks more certain that it will definitely be open. Thanks for your suggestion, though!
