We've been to WDW every year for the past 6 yrs. and had no trouble booking at the value resorts with only 1-2 months notice. Now, we're thinking about becoming DVC members but I still don't see us planning 6-12 months out for the most part. I'm flexible on where we stay and I know situations are dependent on seasonal differences. That said, what is the quickest you've been able to book a stay at a DVC property?

Most of the time, if it's not our home resort (VWL) we book pretty close to the 7 month window. If you're flexible as you say, then you should be able to find something. That also depends on the time of year you want to go as DVC has some different peak times compared to the regular resorts. F&W, early December and the marathon for example can be difficult either due to the events or the lower points per room.

We've been DVC members since 2003 and have usually booked early. But sometimes we need to add another room or get a bigger room and it has never been a problem.
Early August this year, we decided to go down in October. Everything was booked when I called on 8/10, we went on the waiting list and got a reservation 4 days later. So I don't think it will be a problem for you.

I'm a relatively new member, joining in January through that $83/point special they had. I had actually already booked a room at POR over Spring Break. I was pretty sure they'd be no way I could get a room at SSR over Spring Break on such short notice.
But I did!! Maybe it was beginner's luck. Since then, however, I've somehow known when I've wanted to go. For example, this year, it's a no brainer I'd be at Epcot for its 25th, so I booked BCV as soon as the 7-month window opened. And I know next year I will be taking the family over Thanksgiving week, so again, as soon my 11 months comes, I'm bookin'.
