Hi!

I have a sony DCR-PC100E , heres what it says on it:

Digital Handycam

Dual Media, mini dv , memory stick.

now, HOW ON EARTH do i get stuff that i record on it - onto the computer?

sorry for being so vague, its just that i really dont know a single thing! i am completely clueless :hammer:


any help would be gratefully appreciated :D

Do you have the memcard to PC adapter? I use a USB one i picked up for 30 bucks..it works with pics and im sure it would work with videos as well...

For the miniDV video transfer, you need a Firewire port on your PC. If you dont have a Firewire port, you can add one in. goto www.dabs.com and search on firewire, and you will see plenty. The firewire card will allow you to transfer the raw digital video stream from the camera to the PC. :) Once into the PC you can then edit it with your favorite movie app.

For transferring stills, you can buy a sony memory stick adaptor that will allow you to plug in the cameras memory stick directly into the PC. OR you could use the supplied still photo transfer cable supplied with the camera. :)

i have a firewire port on my pc :) - havent used it yet though! lol
