How old is Lilo?

Does anyone know exactly how old Lilo is in the beginning of the movie? I need to know for a psychology essay. Thanks!!

I have wondered the same thing.

I have heard 5 through 10... so I am in favor of 8.

if I remember correctly... and this is digging into the recesses of my quickly aging brain... Lilo is 8 years old. And older sister, Nani, is 19.

I would say Lilo is no more than 8 (Probably 7 going on 8) only because how she reacts to things. Nani is 18 or 19, and out of school.
