Hey,

Just having a think about how much money we will need, we have the Dining plan for both of us but for a few of our meals we are paying for a friend, i'd say about 7 meals. there are 2 of us, so how much will we need for tips for mousekeeping, taxis, restaurants etc?? plus spending money too!! we are there for 2 weeks

Thanks :)

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Just depends on your spending habits so that a a hard question to answer. Me and DH go and have easily spent over $1500 in extras from tips/alcohol/lots of shopping (Disney is known to have more than your standard boring souviners so it's easy to find lots of items you might want and some are very pricey like the nice D&B purses etc lol), etc.
As for your dining I would say look at the meus but you do not know what your friend will order for those meals so that probably will not help as the prices vary at each individual place and menu items they have. They might have $20 menu item all the way up to $50+ So that's a hard one to figure out ahead of time. Then all the other items you may spend on tips, mousekeeping, shopping all is what your willing to spend or can spend.
Sorry if I have not been much help but it is really a personal decision you all must discuss on what your budget will be. :)

As @sxeensweet said, it all depends on your spending habits. Try and figure out what you want to leave for mousekeeping and how often. Remember, you won't necessarily have the same keepers every day, so leaving something every day could be better than one big tip at the end, so there's that. Taxi's... well, depends on where you go and what you need them for. Personally, if you're on-site, I'd try and stick to the Disney Transportation and then you don't have to worry about it (unless it's a car service from the airport to your resort and then back at the end of your stay... we tip both ways because we know we won't have the same driver). Spending cash? Well, that's all up to you. Disney isn't exactly cheap when it comes to souvenirs. Depending on what you're looking at possibly getting, I would venture over to Disneystore.com and take a look in the Disney Parks Products tab and get an idea of what stuff costs (even if it's in the general vicinity of what your'e thinking of getting). Also, I've found that if it's not something you need right away (limited edition items), look at Downtown Disney or in the parks, see where they have what you want, and head back before you leave to ship everything home in as few packages as possible (if you want to go that route).

So yeah, you're unfortunately not going to get much help from anyone with this topic, but we'll try and help give pointers as to things to look for ahead of time, that way you can make some informed decisions as to how much you may want to have.
