I don't have free dining for my August trip and we initially booked the QSDP because we just wanted to go with the flow, as far as dining was concerned. Theeeeen...my husband decided he wanted to to the Spirit of Aloha show at the Polynesian. Well, once you pay OOP for that one meal alone, it's a small amount to upgrade the rest of our 8 days, so there you have it. (Of course, DH decided this at about 60 days out so I had to scramble to make ADRs.)

Basically, what I am trying to say is, it is worth it to upgrade if you think you are going to incorporate one or more "big-ticket" dining engagements into your plan. At least it was for us.
