How Much per day?

Hi, all,

I am 18 days away from our first trip in abut 5 years. We are a family of 4, Husband, Wife, Son (14), and Daughter (9). How much money should be plan on, per day? We aren't huge souvenir people, but I am sure we will get a few things. Also, We are not on the dining plan, but do have to restaurant PS at Crystal Palace and Teppan Edo. ( I have already allocated 200 per meal, to be safe for those two places). The remainder of the trip will consist of quick service, with maybe an additional TS on the spur of the moment. We are staying on property, as well.

Thanks, All!

The menus for every restaurant are listed on the website, along with item prices for every a la carte restaurant. Buffets and AYCTE restaurants only have price ranges - allocate the higher prices to be safe. You can add these up (make an educated guess what your family would likely order). Don't forget to allow extra for snacks and drinks during the day. As for souvenirs, I couldn't guess. Will you just buy a pair of ears, or multiple toys and clothing items, or designer handbags and jewellery?

I go about a buck-fifty per person per day. My youngest son is 3, so I usually petition the wife to roll my son's and my per diem into one.

He has milk, I have a Macallan 18 or Glenmorangie.....Everybody is happy.

But again....them be just guidelines - not necessarily rules. Savvy?

I will second the reminder about free water at QS. Unless you're really into candy, that leaves Mickey pretzels and Mickey bars as your only snack expense. Water and a pretzel can really fill you up. I think you're spot on for the food budget otherwise.

Souvenirs are another story. Admittedly, we've been going for a while but, in general, I'm no longer that thrilled with the quality of a lot of their merch anymore. Thin tshirts, very little of the more unique items, and a lot of junk toys for the younger set are what you see in most places. I would just say set a $ amount you feel comfortable with spending for the whole trip per person and see what happens. Are you good with spending $40 on a tshirt? 60-70-80 on a sweatshirt? You may not even find anything you like.

Thank you.

I have spent a considerable amount of time on this site and others. Problem is, the way we park hop, no telling where we will end up. I have a ball park 50 planned for quick service lunch. I was curious of the amount everyone plans for. I don't plan on taking my budget down to the penny lol. I don't want to make the wife crazy :)

Just curious. Thank you!

I agree with your post. We have been quite a few times, but since the youngest was born, we haven't been as much. The only souvenir items I am really interested in are the Vintage EPCOT items. I will be good with spending 40 bucks for a Tshirt since that's the going rate for Tshirts these days (GnR Concert and Katy Perry with my 9 year old taught me that). I won't be coming home with multiple EPCOT or MK Shot Glasses; although, Haunted Mansion specific merch is hard for me to pass up

This is the first year for us without free dining. We are budgeting about $100 a day for food (2 QS meals and snacks) and $200 for souvenirs. We will have a couple of TS meals so those days will be a good bit more :)

I would plan on $150/person per day in food based on where you will probably eat. Dinner is what will be the main driver. Souvenirs are a little different based on what you may want but if everyone isn't getting a lot I would plan on $500 overall.
