How much influence does a sponsor have?

The recent threads regarding the imagination pavilion got me thinking, just how much influence does a sponsor have in these scenarios?
I admit to being a little confused when a lot seem to blame Kodak for the current situation, I know Kodak have input for their money but would have thought it's Disney who draw up & implement the final designs - or is this not the case?

Basically, if a company is paying for the pavilion, they have most of (if not all) of the say as to what the pavilion contains. I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that Kodak wanted a more cost effective attraction for JII and that is one reason why it became what it is today. In this case, Disney did design the new ride, but they most likely had to stay within the confines of a smaller budget and listen to imput from Kodak as well.

It is to my understanding that Journey into YOUR Imagination was done due to something involving Kodak's sponsorship contract stating that a new ride had to be created. Something along those lines.
