Well, my area in michigan got a nice coating of snow, 18 + inches in some places, and low and behold, LTU is one of the only schools of any types still open. AHHH GIVE US ONE SNOW DAY PLEASE! There has ben 1 in the past 3 years.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Sorry couldn't resist. Everybody around here is closed. Even Oakland University, but they tend to close when the school district closes. Enjoy your day at school. I'll be thinking of you when I'm out playing in the snow and enjoying my week off of school. Plus the best part is my best friend got a Snow Day and we might be able to do something today.

Our university would stay open too. So you're not the only only one. Whenever it happened only 1/2 of the students show up. Then class is would usually be cut short or lectures would turn into discussion classes. After learning that, I never showed up to school during bad snow days.

Get used to it cuz once you join the rest of us in the working world, you'll never get another snow day. Work never closes.

I'd still take off though  . There was that one snow storm a couple of years ago. It happened right after new years. I think it was 1999, you're from IL so you should remember that year. To make a long story short...
*had to dig out my car.
*had to dig out a path to get out the one exit.
*had to push a car that reversed over spikes and blocked the exit.
*drove two friends home. Dropped one at home (mistake since street wasn't cleared) and the other off from main street.
*took 5 hours to get home vs 20 minutes!!!

Ever since then...If I EVER hear of a snow storm coming I REFUSE TO GO TO WORK. My boss was complaining that I and a couple others didn't show up the next day, but I didn't care.

I remember it and, I might add, I commute from near the Wisconsin line to downtown Chicago and made it to work that day while some of the slugs that live in the city didn't.:animwink:

Maybe you should invest in a 4x4 vehicle...you might make it out of the house!

It only happens once in a blue moon, so I'm cool with it. As for today's snow fall, I'm positive the street are cleared by now. We've had piles of salt stashed away all over the city since that event...so the Mayor's completely prepared for these things! Yay! :sohappy:
