How much extra for 19 year old in room?

I have tried to do a search on this, but I couldn't find anything, so it goes.
Does anyone know how much extra it cost for a family of 4 at AKL? Our oldest daughter is 19 (college student) and I am just wondering how much more I need to pay for her? Thank you for your help!

I think most rooms are charged to the maximum occupancy of the room so adding another person shouldnt cost anything. I may be wrong but when we booked i added another couple and the price stayed the same.

At the Animal Kingdom Lodge there is an additional adult charge of $25 per adult per night for more than two adults in a room.

It depends on the resort. e4ymod is right that AKL is a deluxe resort and $25 a night. I belive it is $15 a night for mods and $10 for value, but never pay it so I wouldn't know for sure (my kids are young ens.) :)

I personaly think it is a jip and joke and should be over 21 for children with parents, but that isn't my dessions, but WDW's. :fork: I mean heck some 18 year olds are still in HS and most still live at home and are mom and dad's health insurance and are tax right off stills. :brick: Just personal pet peve. Disney is in there right to do what ever they want. :)

If you have been to WDW before and gave your childrens age chances are they have you in their system and will have the kids brith dates down. If you have never been, they have no records, and will not ask for I.D for ages.

Just so you know, there is no charge for over 2 adults in DVC rooms. You can't stay at AKL, but BCV, BWV, OKW, VWL, SSR are all on proprerty DVC resorts. Renting points would be the way to go with that. (we are DVC and that is one among many things I like about it.)

they may charge a single occupancy - which costs $$$$.

it cost me alot of £££ for a single occupancy and i was going for 3 weeks but i was happy to pay it.

phone the people up who you booked with and see if you could arrange something or ask them for a price -it doesnt hurt to try.

hope it works out for ya.

Thanks everybody,
Actually we have been to the AKL two other times, and when I spoke to them on Sunday, they confirmed my reservation as 2 adults, one 11year old and one 17 year old. (that is from two years ago, when we first went there)
My 19 year old is completely dependent on me for all of her finances, including college, and she is still my kid, but saying that I know Disney has rules, and I always try to teach my kids integrity.......So I guess I should be calling them back to correct the ages, anyone else ever go through this as well? Thank you

We had 4 adults in our room last year at POP and were not charged anything extra. They did know in advance because our reservations were made thru AAA and we purchased 4 adult tickets.

You paid the extra... you just didn't know it... when you put in 4 adults - it automatically adds the extra $$ into the price of your room... rest assured... Disney get's their $.. ;)

I did the same thing, it was originally 2 then i increased it to 4 later on and was no extra fee... it might be different per resort.

Thanks e4ymod,
I'm correcting the ages tommorw.
I already feel better:eek:

that's what counts - if it doesn't feel right then don't do it - the last place you want to be feeling guilty is WDW... that's reserved for happy feelings only! ;)

This is completely up to you... I am just saying what we do personally.

My GF and I always book the room. We only book it as two adults. We do not tell Disney if we then have more occupants in our room.
We DO keep our room tidy, and tip the CM cleaning our room very well. I guess it's how we make ourselves feel less guilty.
Either way, we can't justify paying more money per night for the benefits of having the others announced on the room (EMH, etc.).

I am not saying what we are doing is right, I am just giving you another option. In the end, it's up to you. We find that it has worked out very nicely thus far, though we dream of the day we can get our room to ourselves.

I hate when I hear about families bringing a college age child and having to pay $25 extra a night for them at the deluxe resorts. My family goes to WDW several times a year. Nothing about me changed from 17 to 18. I didn't get bigger, I don't use more towels, I don't use more soap & shampoo, I don't take up more space. Now I'm 20, and the same story. So I end up being 17 or not there. ;)

I seem to be forever 17 whenever I go to Disney with my family, even though I'm 23 now! Even though I'm in the system from my own individual trips as Carolyn, we get away with it by putting me as Carrie the 17-year-old. :p

You really don't have to tell them anything. Just say the room is for 2 adults. I know the Disney morality police are going to attack me for this, but honestly. There is no way they know how many people are staying in your room. If a housekeeper walks by and he is in your room....how do they know he isn't a family member from another room? Oh and, by the way, i haven't met a housekeeper who cared about that anyway. but, if you are retentive (like me) the additional cost per adult at the value resorts is 8 dollars per person. Here is the catch. They will only allow 4 people per room regardless of age. So, keep that in mind when calling. If you say five, they will insist on a different hotel or an additional room.

The only expection is if one is under 3 years old. Then they just don't count.

I got my ressies once and it was more then I expected. They had me down twice so there was 3 adults in the room. I was sure to clear that up.

just like everyone else was saying...just say that the person is 17...my parents use to (and still do) it. when you are coughing up over $300 a night at one of the fancy-smancy hotels why not?
