How much does one Disney share represent?

Someone once asked how much of Disney World does one share represent? While owning stock does not directly relate just to the land owned by Disney in Florida, it is an interesting question.

There are around 27,000 acres of land at Disney World. With an acre equal to 43,560 feet, this is equal to 1,176,000,000 square feet. Based on the most recent Disney quarterly earnings release, there are 1.543 billion shares of Disney stock outstanding. So each share represents around 0.76 square feet.

So, if someone owned 400 shares of Disney, this would represent around 305 square feet of Disney World or about the size of a moderate hotel room. Of course, this value includes all of the land including roads, wooded areas etc. Still, it is an interesting piece of trivia.
