How Many Times Do You Change Your Plans / Reservations?

Ok so maybe it's just me but I seem to do it a lot at WDW during the time before my visit. Once there we have a fairly loose plan day to day so it's not hard to stick to it. Basically what park we will go to each day and where we have a single TS meal reservations at.

But the time before we go? It's seems to change a lot. From where we stay to where we are making TS reservations at. The trip we have this May has undergone these changes in the last couple of months for example.

Version 1:

May 31st to June 6th at the CBR for four (Me, wife, 16yo daughter and 11yo son) with 7 days tickets and TS DDP. Made all my reservations for the TS meals. I had dinner at BOG set up at MK so I was happy with all of my plans. :)

Version 2:

WDW releases their spring discounts so we changed from CBR to BW, kept everything the same except I moved most TS reservations around to better fit where we were staying, i.e. lots more yummy Epcot dinning set up! Still kept my BOG dinner though. We did add park hoppers to the 7 day tickets as it made more sense with us at the BW instead of the CBR.

So last week we spent a day out as a family, along with us was a 15 year old friend of my daughter. I had not meet her before but she was a great fit with our family (even our 11yo son!) and really impressed me with her manners, politeness and her overall personality. During the day Disney came up (Frozen!) and I found out she had been to DL when she was 3yo but never to WDW. Well that is not a way to grow up! So the wife and I spoke latter that night and decided we would take her along with us this trip if her parents were OK with it. They were and thus now we have 5 instead of 4 to plan for. Being that we were offering to pick up all expenses for her I did some research (to offset the increased $) and called Disney that night. Were were able to add her to our SW Airline flight so that worked out well. Well Disney was just awesome to deal with on the phone :) and the following changes were made.

Version 3: (Current Version)

Still at the BW, 7 day tickets with park hoppers and Memory Maker (had this on all version as well) but we changed to the QS DDP from the TS DDP to save the money to pay her way. Knowing I would do this I went and cancelled all of my TS meals before calling Disney, yep that was not smart of me! So no BOG for me this trip :( Can't find a lunch or dinner reservation at all that week for BOG anymore. But we ended up making reservations at 50s Primetime the first night, Ragland Road for lunch on the middle day and closing up the week on Friday night at Epcot dinner at Marrakesh. I really want to start and end the week with a nice dinner and drinks, these will all be paid for OOP. Love the Disney Chase credit card reward points :) And Ragland Road is a must for us, my 20yo son in in the USAF and stationed in Tampa Bay so we hope he can make it to have a day with us that day :) I will own him at Splitsville if he show up!

I am fine with losing BOG (Ok not really but I am being brave about it!) but the truth is that we start our DVC vacations next year at SSR, our DVC contracts runs thru 2054 so I think BOG will be in our future at some point :)

Anyways am I the only one who changes this much? I mean this is not the first year we have changed but it seems worst this year!!

Nope! We've went from All-Star Movies to Caribbean Beach this trip and then we've switched BoG dates and times, swapped 1900 Park Fare breakfast to dinner, cancelled Raglan Road, cancelled Beaches and Cream, and changed 50's Prime Time Cafe dates and times twice now! and this is just a short weekend (4 night) trip!!

We've not changed resorts but for our trip last week I started making ADRs in October and changed all but one several times. I mean probably every week I made a change. It's addictive. Currently planning November and I know if I could I'd already be booking and changing. It's what keeps me excited about the trip when it's so far away.

And if it makes you feel better I cancelled two BOGs last week. I regret it a little now but all in all we had great food at new places.

I hope you have a great trip!

Thanks! And I agree changing dinning plans is easy and additive. :)

What a nice thing you are doing! My first visit was when I was 16 with my best friend and her mom, and I had a wonderful time. If they had not taken me along, I would have never become dis-obsessed! They did it!! :)

And I've had to change my trip from June to August, and this trip included a cruise! Thanks to the lovely snow of NJ we had to move our trip back. Also changed resorts from AOA to WL.. so you are not alone in multiple changes! I think all the options of Disney make everything fun, you can really customize as much as you'd like!!

Thanks :)

If she like WDW then one more converted into the fold :) Kinda like a cult, without the poison kool aid or weird clothes.

For my November trip I've already changed my dates once, going from a Nov/11 arrival to Nov/9 so I wouldn't miss Food & Wine Festival. That made me redo my park days wish list, which will change again after November hours are made public.

I've changed my mind twice so far about some of our most wanted ADR and I'm still not sure about others so I'll probably change them again.

I like planning for Disney though and making changes are a great way to pass those pesky days between trips!
