We'll be in Disney for the October 17th MNSSHP and I was wondering if anyone knows how many tickets are sold for this event? We already purchases ours, but I was wondering how the crowds will be that night.

The official number has never been revealed. I've read estimates around 20-25,000 but I think that's just best guess.

Weekends and dates on/near the 31st are busiest with the actual Halloween date selling out in advance. Week day and earlier dates in September and early October are less busy. Weekends see locals whereas mid-week are mostly just tourists. (No one wants to be at MK until midnight then have to get up and go to work the next day! )

Most of the times I've been to a MNSSHP, once the first parade and the fireworks are done, it really starts to clear out, and you can pretty much have your run of the park, and not have to worry about lines for the rides.
I wouldn't think on a Sunday night (the 17th) in the middle of October, it would be that different, but, if your going with children, I would advise to get them some rest during the day, so they can get the most out of the party as well.

This is a pet peeve of mine.

Years ago, when MNSSHP was first started, there were a limited number of tickets being sold. I remember the first year of the event it was wonderful. No crowds, and all rides and attractions were walk ons. Then somewhere along the line Disney got greedy and upped the number of tickets being sold. Now, the closer it is to Halloween, the more crowded the park is. If you go anywhere near October 31st, the place is PACKED.

I see they also have one on Nov. 1st. How is it on that day? Since I pay upfront for my entire Disney trip it allows me to play around with the dates.

I want to hit the MVMCP but my wife wants to hit the MNSSHP so I was think if we get there around the 30th of Oct. we could do both since I saw that they have another one on the 1st of Nov. But how packed is it on that day?

We went last year on Thursday October 1st and it was beyond packed. We didn't ride any rides (didn't have time). Just saw the parade, fireworks, Villian Show and character meet and greets. The lines for the characters were outrageous (between 30 and 60 minutes per character) and we spent a lot of time doing that. We were there the whole time, 7-12, and like I said, didn't have time to ride any rides. It was unbelievably crowded and most cast members didn't really know what was going on which caused us to walk aimlessly around the park a lot.
