i was wondering how many people have to enter Magic Kingdom for them to close the gates???

And when they do close the gates, what are the wait times like???

If you think about it, it really isnt THAT many people...

For example...that amount of people could fill up a stadium, and a stadium takes up far less space than epcot (yes i know the seats are bleachers)...5000 people is not a lot..trust me...most night clubs in orlando can hold that many (even if its not comfortably)...

I think that was for NYE 1999-2000... a friend of mine got stuck one hour in the traffic before 8am.... unbelievable!

we were just there Dec. 28- Jan. 7 and I don't remember which day, but one of those days they closed the Magic Kingdom gates because it was so crowded. (Yes, this was during the "low attendance" I sure didn't see it...)

In November the year AK opened the park was full. On the sign that has arrows pointing to where the parks are the arrow was replaced with full. And since the park is HUGE, there must have been like 150,000 people there. And resort guests can get in no matter how full it is, as long as they take a bus or other Disney transportation.

DAK is not the biggest park, it is in fact one of the smallest ones if not the smallest one. If I remember correctly, Epcot is the biggest one. (speaking in terms of capacity both!) ;-)

Once a park reaches its capacity, then Plan A, B, C, etc., start. The first thing Disney does, depending on the phase, is to stop transportation to that park and only having transportation from that park to the others.

I remember when NYE 1999-2000 was, resort guests were allowed to hop but only to the parks that were available. Disney wouldn´t guarantee your entrance to Epcot for instance, but your entrance to a park.

Right. AK is the biggest park, but that doesn't mean it's the one with the greatest attendance capacity. Most of the land is dedicated to the animals, specially the artificial savannah.

well 100 hundred of the acres are for the safari, and there are a lot of animal areas back stage, but to answer your question they have not built up all of the space. Actually there is a lot left I think.

Well we know there is enough room for a new land or 2. Austraillia or Beastlie or both.

Not exactly true. It depends on what stage of capacity is in the parks .The first level of closure means only resort guests can get into a Full park, but if it goes to the next level of closer nobody gets in until some people leave. And if your in a park when they start closing parks due to capacity, you better check with the front entrance manager before you leave the park because if you left you might not even get back into the park you just left, hand stamp or not.

For some strange reason and with no basis in anything other then what is in my mind, I thought the MK cpacity was in the 75K range.
