How Many Outfits

So I am a little over a week away from our trip and I have started to pull together outfits to take on our trip. I had originally figured that I would bring 1 outfit per day for my daughters - like all my other vacations - but I am starting to wonder if this will be enough.

I don't know if my girls (3 & 5 year olds) will be able to make it a full day at the park. If we come back to the hotel to swim or nap mid-day, I can't imagine putting clothes back on from earlier in the day. Should I be planning to bring 2 outfits per day?

I hate to pack too much, but I also would hate to run out of clean clothes.

Are you averse to doing laundry? I do laundry every 4 - 5 days on the parks (so, 2 - 3 times a visit), and only bring that amount of clothes plus one pair of slacks / polo for finer dining and a swimsuit.

I usually do about 1.5 outfits for every day there. So if you are staying 7 days bring 10-11 outfits. I plan on packing an extra outfit in a ziploc for the backpack just in case of rain, food spill or bathroom accident. If it isn't used it will just stay in the backpack. I always do laundry before we leave mostly so I don't have to come home and spend days catching up, but it helps too in case you run out of clothes quicker than you thought.

We usually do laundry about half way through the trip. Go for a swim and throw a load in while you swim. Then you only need half the amount of clothes. 10 day trip, figure 6 outfits this way. (a spare is always good)

I have four kids and one on the way. We often take breaks during the day and my kids nap in pj's. We have been able to re wear outfits after nap time. And we have looked like we spent the day in a landfill, not WDW. My kids tend to be messy but I do try to keep them as clean as possible, I still make my 9 and 8 year old use napkins tucked into thier shirt while eating messy things, espicially when I get many of the park outfits from etsy! I would also do a quick assessment of their outfits once you get them back in your room, you might be able to spot treat some places so they can wear them again. This is probably obvious advice but re hange the clothes too. For sport treatment I love Dawn dish soap, I have a small travel bottle that Is actually a store brand I bring on any vacations with a hotel stay, just refill with my trusty Dawn. I use the smallest dab possible, I mean tiny, I put my finger on the top and just get a smige to work into the stain. Then I dab with a damp wash cloth, most of the time it works. Depending on the spot it might be dry by the time you all head back. The Dawn comes in handy for keeping our Tervis cups , kids juice cups, resort mugs and on on ocassion a very muddy pair of crocs clean;) Enjoy your vacation!

We bring one per day for everyone, two bathing suits, and at least two extra outfits. Sometimes we will also pack a nice outfit if we plan on going out to a higher end restaurant.

We leave in 18 days (can you say excited :)) and I plan to take 2 outfits per day. A 4T in clothes is much smaller in a suitcase than adults' clothes and I am doing laundry. With rides and the excitement, you never know if you will be successful at making it to the bathroom in time.

I actually tend to pack 2 outfits per day for each of our girls + some extra things in case we need it.

I REFUSE TO DO LAUNDRY WHILE ON VACATION!!! :D

We also never go for more than a week, so this is usually no biggie. Plus, if it's a warm weather trip- those clothes take up less space and there's less planning for weather extremes (which means more clothes).

Mind you, we tend to take mid afternoon breaks so that makes outfit changes easier, but the girls start out with one outfit in the morning that they'll wear through break time and then change them into something else for the evening. I always keep 1 "just in case" outfit per girl in my backpack at all times- just in case someone gets "attacked" by their dinner, gets soaked on Splash, or has some other random thing come up that demands an outfit change. If it's a summer trip- I also like to put each outfit in a gallon sized ziplock bag labeled with their name so I can keep track of all outfits and don't have a royal mess in their suitcase. Winter trips are different though b/c we've seen extremes from upper 20s to low 80s on those trips...and not all winter clothes fit in the bags...which should not be an issue for you at this time of year. :)

We actually had a day back in 2010 where each girl wound up having 4 outfit changes...aside from my older one having an accident and not making it in time, I spilled my drink all over my younger one several times in one meal. I was actually running out of clothes by this point and the staff at Crystal Palace offered to get us more clothing. Then they had BBB which was another outfit change...and then it was cold that night so another outfit change. So, I tend to overdo it a bit after that crazy day!

This was my thinking as well. I plan to start her out in comfy shirt/shorts for the morning through her nap. Then I will change her for the evening because my mom is making some cute "princess-inspired" sundresses.

Would love to see the dresses :)

For warm weather trips, it's usually tanks & skorts/shorts during the day and pillowcase dresses, sundresses, or things with pettiskirts or tutus at night.

I am clearly the over packer on this one! For my husband and myself I pack two full outfits for every day, but for DD I pack at least 3. I dress DD once in the morning and I pack a complete outfit to the park then I will change her in something nicer for the evenings. I am very OCD and will change her anytime something gets on her outfit, but the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem!!

I will post when she finishes them. We are doing Rapunzel, Belle, Cinderella, and maybe Snow White? Oh, and a Minnie Mouse pillowcase dress. :)

Those sound sooooo cute!!!! I've seen so many adorable dress adaptations for the various princesses. Love all of the Minnie pillowcase ones too. This is the one that I got for DD4 a couple of years ago...

(of course, she yanked the Minnie bow out of her hair by this point)

...still fits, but she's gotten so tall that leggings are now a must. ;)
