How many days for newbie?

Depends what you like doing and when your going to be there.

Last January we (me and my GF) spent a day at Universal Studios (although we had actually been on everything withing the first 4 - 5 hours) and two days at IOA. Both were extremely quiet and we literally walked on everything. I think we queued a maximum of 5 minutes for Duelling Dragons but thats only because we wanted to sit at the front.

We had actually done everything at IOA within the first 4-5 hours too but we liked it alot so spent the rest of the day there and went back again.

If you like thrill rides then definatly plan at least one maybe 1.5 days at IOA. You will nearly always get round Universal Studios in a day regardless of crowd levels. Due to the nature of attractions you will find that you need to schedule your day quite carfully if its busy to make sure you see all the shows.

Glad to hear that. I'll be at WDW this year and we wanted to swing by IOA for a day and was hoping it would be quiet.

Might also try and fit in a day at Aquatica, It should be open in time for our trip!

2 Days is fine for Universal Orlando (one day per park) as long as you don't happen to be there on an extremely busy holiday weekend or something (I heard Christmas day was PACKED this year).

If you weren't a newbie, you might even be able to pull off one day for both parks. However, 2 days will give you a chance to see everything that both parks have to offer, and you might even have some extra time on your hands, so you can likely afford to relax and take it slow.

If you want to do it in 1.5 days so that you have more time for WDW, you can probably pull that off with no problem.

it also depends on whether you're going to use express pass or not. if you use the pass, you can pretty easily do pretty much everything in one day. seeing that i love their parks, and think they have a ton of detail worth seeing then i do suggest at least a day and a half for both of them if not two.
