How long to travel between Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom?

I made all of our dining reservations before we had a firm idea of what park was going to be on what day. I now have a Be Our Guest lunch reservation on a Hollywood Studios day. I told my husband that I thought we could just drive our car that day, start our day at Hollywood Studios, bop over to Magic Kingdom for lunch, and then bop back to Hollywood Studios. My husband thinks that would take WAY too long, he's thinking an hour each way.

I've tried to pick up a reservation for one of our Magic Kingdom days, but we have a party of five and it is proving unsuccessful.

Thoughts? How long do you think it would take? Do you think it would be worth it?

Don't drive. You'll need to park at TTC, then catch a monorail or ferry to get into the park. Drive time from DHS to TTC is not bad. Maybe 10 minutes. But yeah, when you factor walking to your car, driving over, then the tram at TTC to get to the monorail or ferry to then go to MK - you could be looking at 45 minutes to an hour.

Your best bet is to catch the Contemporary bus from DHS and walk straight to MK. On the way back, walk to the Contemporary and take the bus back to DHS. If your timing is halfway decent you'd do about 30 each way with a lot less hassle.

Even better would be to take the direct bus from DHS to MK. The bus will drop off at the MK entrance.
But this method could take could 45 minutes to an hour as well, depending on wait time for the bus and going through security.

@Missy_May your lunch “bop” could be a three hour frame in your day ~ transport to/from DHS, security screening, turnstiles, walking to/from BOG, and lunch itself (add 20 minutes if you don’t pre-order your food). Only you can determine if it’s “worth it.” You will get varying opinions here. 😉

Wasn't sure if that was still a functioning route. I haven't used it in a long time. I think the security is quicker on the walking path vs the bus entrance. It's all pot luck I guess based on the amount of people walking from Contemp or arriving via bus. Also depending on wait time to board the bus from DHS either Contemp or MK. I think though that the Contemp bus sometimes also hit's WL first on occasion (or time of day)

I agree though, I wouldn't classify it as a quick "bop".

Yes, the bus will stop at WL before proceeding to the Contemporary.

Agree there is no way to predict which route would be fastest as lots of variables (loading an ECV for example) could come into play.
