How late can you stay in the parks once the fireworks are over?

To be honest you should stay in the park as long as possible after the fireworks even if you are forced to just wander around and the rides are closed, because you will have such a huge line of people waiting for the monorail, ferry, or buses that you'll be very likely to be standing in line for at least an hour ( unless you've decided to start heading to the exist before the fireworks are even over)... so you might as well stay in the park or air conditioned shops until the lines get shorter.... Where would you rather be waiting? In a massive shoulder to shoulder crowded line or somewhere in the park.

This. This is one of the biggest tips I give people when they ask me for advice. This and not to try and take the parks like a storm trooper from rope drop to closing every day.

These were taken almost an hour after park closing, we had been in line for 7DMT (entered the standby line at 11:55pm). It was the first time we had been in the park that long after closing.. the top pic made me so happy that we chose to wait for 7DMT :)
It’s also the first time that I actually liked my son’s obnoxious shoes. They worked for the pic. ;)

Epcot allows plenty of time to walk around the World Showcase with almost nobody there. Eventually a couple of cast members walk the big circle, kind of shooing people on to the front. There's just nothing like that vibe of an empty World Showcase with the music playing while crews are removing all the barges from IllumiNations.

I always loved when the park would empty out after those fireworks. sometimes it's almost eerie. We did the first E ride night(before EMHs), they only sold around 5000 tickets for it. I think it was $12 each. I believe MK stayed open til 2am. So the park closed unless you had the bracelet, but it had rained just before the fireworks. The park was empty. Then they did midnight fireworks and it rained again. At 1 point me and DW walked from Splash and big thunder toward Space mountain. When we go there we realized that we had not seen 1 other person during the walk. That is spooky.

We love walking around an empty world showcase. Just the relaxed feel and ability to just enjoy a late night walk is awesome.
Early in the morning is pretty cool too. If staying at BCV or BWV going thru the IG while only future world is open. They don't stop you from walking towards France.

CM's have told me before they never "make anybody leave". Ropes go up at the entrance of every land though. The Castle continues to change colors through a lot of the night though and I also love sitting on the balcony and watching them put all the monorails up too. Wouldn't you say there's probably almost never a time that someone isn't in the MK? Just seems like it would take forever to clean it and stuff like that.

As someone who used to work in the park past closing, you pegged it. The park does take forever to clean, so deliberately waiting and insisting on being the last one out could lead to having to skimp on certain areas of cleanliness overnight and causes those underpaid CMs to have to bust their butts even harder to get their extensive checklists done.

By insisting on being the last one out, you're essentially playing a game of chicken with the other person/people who also wants to be the last one to leave. I saw it happen almost every night. You're holding up hundreds of CMs: the overnight custodial CMs who cannot start cleaning until the park is clear, and the CMs who have to stay until every guest has left the park.

As a word of advice to everyone, if you have any respect for Cast Members, do them a favor next time and see yourself out once the shops on Main Street close.

So true as it affects busses as well. People often ask when the last bus is. And regardless of posted times the fact is busses are on standby till the last soul walks out. We have no way of knowing if you need a bus or the ferry.... so we wait!

And you get paid the entire time :)

Had an 8:55pm reservation at Le Celier, Epcot closed at 9pm. It was well past 10pm by the time we finished dinner. We took a nice stroll through Epcot in peace and solitude. It was great.

You know, this is all Disney's fault, they made the parks so awesome and amazing that I just don't want to leave. Especially at night when there are few souls around, that is when the parks are truly magical.
