How is Kidani Village?

I have a confession to make: The Animal Kingdom lodge, to me, seems to be designed like an african prison. I find the lack of lush landscaping, the spread out nature of the resort, and the outer structure to all contribute to a very "meh" feeling when I have visited the resort. We absolutely love the grand floridian, the boardwalk inn, and the polynesian. That being said, Kidani village was the only place we could find that had a studio available for the week we are visiting. It's a Savannah view room, and we'll be there the first week of December.

Maybe I've got this resort all wrong, so I'd love to hear other perspectives on it.

I personally love the lodge. Animal Kingdom is actually our favorite resort. We have stayed at both Jambo and Kidani and really enjoyed our experiences. Our most recent stay was as Kidani in June and I coudln't have been more pleased. I like the quaint feeling of the lobby, its quiet and inviting. Plus you are going at Christmas time and the holiday decor is so pretty!

The pool and splash area is very nice too. My DS 11 loved going to community hall. He loved heading down there while I was finishing up getting ready in the evening. Bus service was great! I feel like AKL always gets a bad wrap, but knock on wood we never encountered issues. Yes it is alittle futher out then some of the resorts, but no ride is long in my eyes. Kidani is the 1st pick up and drop off to and from the parks which was great. DTD it is the opposite, Jambo is first.

Only downside is the lack of QS location. But there is a shuttle van that takes you too and from jambo, which we used and worked out well... Never waited more then 5 mins for a lift.

Thank you! I hope it's warm enough to use the pool when we go. I'm looking forward to seeing the holiday decorations.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Me and DH love it at Kidani Village. We have never stayed in a Studio though. We always choose 1 or 2 bedroom villas for more space and a washer/dryer etc. We always get the Savannah view and it truly to us is worth it to see all the animals each day while on our balcony. The giraffes are my fave to watch. I don't think you will regret the stay there as it is something different and we find it very peaceful and more laid back than the other resorts. We do love Boardwalk , and a few others as well by we keep coming back to Kidani. :)
