How is it over at Uni right now?

With all the construction.... HP 2.0, TF and Springfield expansion....that's a LOT of construction, all of which I am going to experience on my April visit.

I'm just concerned its going to be too much and it's going to take away some of the magic.

This will be my last visit to UO for a few years and possibly the last for my family together. So to anyone who has been recently... How is it?

I was there this past Saturday, as I am there almost every Saturday. Personally most of the construction is contained to USF, so IOA is almost completely wall free (minus the HG Express walls) so at IOA you will feel all of the magic and it will be incredible!

Now at USF there are walls really in only the back end of the park at this point, so you will only really feel the construction as you head back towards Simpsons and MIB. Everywhere else is now wall Free (except the entrance area for Transformers).

So go, have fun, take pictures, and get excited about all the amazing stuff that is to come!

If you're going to be there in April, the construction walls around Transformers may very well be down. You'll just have to worry about the walls by the old Amity area and over by the simpsons ride.

I was there a month ago and it really wasn't bad at all. The only place I felt like the construction was noticeable was with the old Amity area... and that's just because it's huge (This excited me greatly). But the construction didn't make me feel as though I was missing the park or not getting a full experience. Universal honestly looked great (Full disclosure, it probably helped I was there just afte Uni had decorated for Mardi Gras). I didn't see any like ugly iron frames or anything. Transformers is already fully enclosed and was being painted when I was there. The walls are high enough that it's hard to see anything into the HP 2 area. And Simpson's must not have been bad either since I can't even recall seeing the construction walls.

There is minor construction on the under side of Dueling Dragons but that's about it on the IOA side. It looked great!

Just got back form a day trip on 3/16/13. Got there when it opened (Studios first). Rode all the big rides- minimal wait times (10 min MAX). Mardi Gras was very festive. Springfield is coming along (pic of Moe's posted in another thread). Transformers building is amazing- incredible how fast it went up- we were there in June when they were tearing SS44 down. Got a sneak peak at the giftshop- they were working on the doors. HP area is coming along as well- can't wait to see it completed!!! Made sure we rode ET- I fear as it is the last original it may get the ax soon :( . Lunch at HRC then over to IOA around noon. Quite busy- Hulk down a good part of the day and waits for everything else were 40-75 minutes- didn't even check FJ (WWoHP was nuts as usual), but Dragon Challenge was only 20 minutes. They really need to do something about the landscaping around the track/structure-yuck! Cabana Bay shell is up- hard to believe it was an empty lot just a few months ago. I think it will be done before next spring- well I hope so anyway. Wish I took more pictures, but I'd rather spend my time living the moment than trying to capture it behind a lens ;) . Overall had a great time of course, just wished we were on property for express pass!
