I got a FP and went to the front of the lineHey I thought we had a one week rule about picking on the newbies!![]()
I realize that this was said in jest, but, knowing this is always a hot topic, let me interject before it gets out of hand. Almost every single bumping incident that I have ever witnessed has been the fault of the bumpee and not the bumper. In all but one case the person operating the scooter was just slowly working their way along with everyone else when an unconscious other person stepped directly in front of the scooter, they turned around and screamed at the scooter operator about how stupid they were and how they need to be careful. It is amazing how quickly people can direct their own stupidity to someone else. People need to remember that those things do not have brakes. They stop by releasing the hand acceleration and a friction brake takes over. Unfortunately, they are counter-intuitive. If you have ever ridden a bicycle that had a hand brake, your first reaction is to squeeze that handle to stop. It's the opposite on the scooters thus making them surge forward instead of stopping. I don't know why they cannot change that system, but, to my knowledge haven't figured out a way to do it.Just do what everyone else does and clip the heels of those in front - they soon move![]()
