How does this thing work?

Hello All!
Me and my fiance are heading to Disney in May 2014 and are really hooked on the idea of doing a split stay at the VGF and the Beach Club. Now I was planning to book it this September while I'm Disney with some friends and possibly get a bounceback offer to save some funds! But my question is, When booking a split stay, do you put down two deposits on two packages? Or is it similar to room only reservations requiring a one night deposit?
Also, the VGF probably won't be part of any discounts for a while huh?

I vaguely recall reading something about when you book packages at two different resorts then you have to pay more for your park tickets because you don't get the advantage of more days on a single reservation. I guess the way to do it is to book room separate from park tickets. Not sure how that works with deposits. I'm sure someone can give you more specific advice though.

Yeah I figured that much. We were hoping for a room discount anyway so we would be buying our tickets separately
