How does the dining plan work?

I purchased the dining plan (not deluxe) for our upcoming trip in Oct.

We are staying 4 nights so we get 4 Table Meals, 4 Quick Service Meals, & Snacks. How many entitlements? Is it 4? So we would only get to eat in 2 of the sit down dinners for our 4 nights? I was thinking we could eat 4 nights at a nice sit down restaurant but looking at the restaurants it says "requires two entitlements".

Just needing clarification on how this works. We are able to make reservations on 5/03.

Most TS restaurants only require 1 TS credit. Signature restaurants require 2, plus certain dinner shows, CRT, BOG dinner etc.

So if you eat at Chef Mickey or Liberty Tree Tavern, for examples, you only use 1 credit per person.

If you find you want to eat at places that need 2 per person, you can either pay out of pocket (i.e. cash, CC, charge to room) for some/all diners, or you could upgrade to the deluxe plan.

I would advise you to do some research on where you want to eat, and what you might order, and then work out if the dining plan will save you money or not. It is possible to make it "work" but many find they would be better off by just paying as you go.

How many in your party? Each person on the Dining Plan (DP) gets entitlements. If you bought DP for four, for example, and stayed four nights, you'd have 16 TS entitlements for your whole party.

Yes I bought the dining plan for four adults but some of the restaurants take 1 entitlement for dinner and some take 2. We would only be able to eat dinner in two specialty restaurants for dinner (if I am correct)? Also, tips are extra and are figured on total price of meal as if you were paying cash?

Yes, tip as if you were paying cash. They will bring a check to your table and you will see the cost of the meal and can figure your tip accordingly. If you use a meal plan credit, it will be one credit (or two at a signature) regardless off the cost. When your server first comes to your table they can tell you what is covered at that particular restaurant on the meal plan. For the restaurants where you order (not buffet) the regular dining plan normally covers your entre and a desert plus a specialty drink.
