How do You Report Cookie Stuffers on Here?

What is a cookie stuffer?

Usually humans, sometimes bots. They go onto forums and spam them with either useless one-liner posts or just a copy/paste of someone else's post in the same thread. Then they go back and add in an affiliate link (usually to an Amazon product) as an image. You see a broken image link and think nothing of it; but the mere fact that you opened that thread can mean that the cookie is set.

If you were to happen to go to Amazon and buy something while the cookie is active (usually 24-48 hours) they would make a commission on whatever you bought. It is a scammy, unethical way to try and make money online.

Thank you for the explanation. I think I've come across quite a few.

They're a nuisance. Definitely didn't expect to see them on this kind of forum though. I guess some people just try to encompass everything and see what sticks.
