How Do You Plan Fastpass Plus/Water Park Days?

I will be visiting in March of 2019 (First time since 2008... I used to visit yearly until I got married, had children, and realized that vacations are expensive when my parents didn't pay for them!), and I was wondering how you plan out Fastpass+ days when you are also planning on visiting water parks. My children (they will be 5 and 2) love the water, so we won't want to miss out on them, but we also know that planning a water park day is always weather dependent. Since we can't predict the weather and know when to place our water park days, how should I go about planning my Fastpass+ times? We will have an 8 day park hopper and will be staying on property. We would prefer late morning Fastpasses, but since there will be 2 half days in which we start out at the water parks, should we just schedule Fastpasses for later in the day to work around it and just hope the weather doesn't turn nasty? Any tips on planning around unpredictable weather, water parks, and scheduling Fastpasses would be appreciated! Thank you!

I think that's your answer there, and certainly what I'd do. Like you said, the weather can be unpredictable so it's probably the easiest/most straightforward solution and hope for the best!
