How DO You Develop Your Disney Sources?

I thought this might make for an interesting discussion. There are a lot of people on here who are "in the know". They "know a guy (or girl)". I am curious how people have developed these sources. Were they people you knew personally? People who contacted you?

I know for me, I know someone who is an imagineer, but I have no relationship or communication with this person. Additionally, i "know a guy/girl" who is just starting college whose life's goal is to be an imagineer. So, I know if he/she ever is, then I"ll have my "insider".
