How do we know which Magic Bands to use...

Long story short, our trip next week is comprised of three separate reservations, therefore we were sent three sets of Magic Bands. Honestly, I have no idea how we are supposed to know which ones we use for which reservation. I know there's the number on the inside of them, but that doesn't really help or I'm not sure what to do with it. Any help would be appreciated.

We just had 2 sets, and we were able to use both interchangeably. If you check Magic Bands on your account there should be an area where you can activate or deactivate the bands on each persons My Disney Experience account. As long as they are all active for each person they all work exactly the same for each person.

So realistically we could just use one set of MB's for our whole trip if we deactivate the other two?

Yes that is true, you could even leave them all active and just use 1 set. Basically, as long as you have an active band on your MDE that works, all the band really is is a way to access the data in your MDE account. However, I will say with the fact that things are still in testing or maybe just out of testing when you get there I'd take all of them, just keeping the 2nd and 3rd set stashed away some place as a "just in case" thing.

Simply put, a Magic Band is only tied to an individual person via their My Disney Experience account. They're not at all directly associated with any certain hotel reservation, dining reservation or ticket.

If you have 1 or 50 hotel reservations also linked to your MDE account, the MB will work for all of them, for as long as the life of the band, and as long as its serial number is linked to that same MDE account.
