Well, the pools are heated...but weather can change in a year!

The week after Thanksgiving to Christmas is the least crowded time of the year. The lines are fairly short (although expect a good wait on the big rides). The pools are fine.

We were just there from 11/23 to 12/01/2001. Lines on weekends (with all the natives about) tended to be long (think 1 hr for SM). The rest of the days were great with very short, if any, lines for most attractions. Weather is, obviously, variable. Daytime swimming is probably safe while nighttime is likely to be too cool in a normal year. Remember, our version of crowds is also post-9/11.

Hello, Madhatter--

For the past 2 years, I went to WDW parks and Universal Parks during early December ( in 2000 from Dec 6-11th, and in 2001 from Dec 5-10th) mainly because the parks are less crowded, since it is between holidays. I am not saying you didn't have to wait on some rides, etc. but just not as long as in the peak summer time, or peak holidays times.

This year, it was even less crowded because of the tragedies on 9-11. Many rides at WDW and Universal were walk-ons.

The only park that we found crowded was the Magic Kingdom on Saturday afternoon. It actually was not so crowded when we first arrived, and the first couple of rides were walk-on, too, until late morning.

Going in early December also gives you the benefit of enjoying all of the Christmas Decorations and events that are going on already.
